This one started with a single email and grew into one of the most glowing partnerships we’ve ever had.
A match happened that ultimately made millions of players happy.
We’ve said this many times, but we are genuinely grateful to the
@Xbox
team for all the collaboration, incredible showcases, heartfelt care, and amazing professionalism. Your hand of support could always be felt, even in the darkest moments. Together, we gave players an unforgettable experience. We are sincerely proud of what we’ve achieved together. This road without you would have been, at the very least, completely different.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is leaving Game Pass, but our shared journey and friendship will only continue. There’s a lot ahead in our universe, which now includes our new stalkers who discovered the Zone over the year. The world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. awaits new stories and experiences, story DLCs, and many surprises that we’re already preparing.
The best is yet to come, and we’ll be glad to have you on this journey. To all the unknown roads, new adventures, and powered dreams.
Nice gesture from them and good on Xbox for facilitating that relationship. Sadly the game itself felt like it has been in “Early Access” for a year and is now leaving gamepass right when its been updated enough to be decent.
Ill buy it at somepoint. I started it when it launched and really liked what I played, but got sidetracked and never went back (which happens with a lot of games for me through no fault of their own).
The war in Ukraine has been devastating and continue to hurt ukrainians every day. Russia has killed 3 people and injured 26 just last night in the capital city of Kyiv. There’s a fireman on duty who had his home burned out, but he continued helping others.
I’m just posting these 2 documentaries from the development of the game. It is important to understand how this game was made:
Thank you. Seeing a comment here and seeing some of the comments elsewhere disgust me… these people have been making a stupid videogame whilst literally, and constantly, under the threat of death from a still-ongoing war. What is wrong with humanity?
I can’t remember from where, but one interview I saw a little after release was how the devs just wanted to be on Xbox, they found an old email for Phil on reddit, and they got connected with the proper teams. Yeah Xbox and Microsoft are a business (not a charity), but behind all of it are just people. Behind everything in gaming is just people. I was studying in England when Russia invaded Ukraine, and I remember being terrified. It was my first time being abroad (in Europe) and there were so many people from Russia and Ukraine at the University I was studying at. And I don’t know. I just keep thinking we should all be better and kinder (or like just decent) and there’s always so much intentional violence and hatred.
Stalker 2 isn’t a game that really speaks to any of my interests, but I’m so glad the developers found a place and support on Xbox. What they went through while developing their game isn’t what anyone should have to go through. I am a profound appreciator of the arts & Humanities and how the Arts serve to immortalitize the human through sharing experiences, stories, and ideas. This is also why game preservation and documentation is important. Their endurance should be celebrated and their stories always remembered.
Looking forward to see what comes next and how Stalker 2 will continue to evolve (even though I probably won’t be playing it especially with it leaving Game Pass soon). The PS release is happening (or already happened)? So hopefully their audience continues to grow.
