I find it funny how every time there’s bad news for Playstation, they deploy units sold as a countermeasure.
Like that means anything to me. They might as well announced that PS sold 50 mil cinderblocks. Or 50 mil wealth transferring devices where the user can give 70% of their money to Microsoft.

When your life is empty, you base your entire personality around a thing. When that thing gets knocked around, it feels like you’re being attacked and you get all defensive, like a cornered animal. That’s what’s possessing these losers to act so wildly out of proportion, and making them say genuinely shitty things about someone for making an admittedly just-OK joke.
It’s truly eye-opening to see the way the moderation was handled there. I guess hostility towards another member of the forum doesn’t count in this case for whatever reason.
Edit: apparently there was a moderation effort and I missed it! See a few posts below.
Anyway, really feel for the people who are actually affected by this. The threat of losing your job is bad enough without all this extra crap around it.

So let me get this straight, Tom Warren was banned from a forum for making the most lighthearted of jokes. But that same forum allows pile ons and console warring so long as it’s in the ‘right’ direction. Yet a journalist is banned for a one line joke.
What fresh hell is this?

To be fair, the mods were banning posters (more harshly than Tom) for repeatedly bringing it up.

One of the most interesting part of the leak is the lack of evidence of a PS5 Pro existing.
I know it’s a massive data dump and will take time for people to process but if it was as near to release as rumours say/actually exists you would think insomniac would have knowledge of it and some form of documentation.

It would be hilarious if the PS5 Pro… didn’t exist. Both MS & Sony could just be waiting until 2026/27 to go next-gen, without a mid-gen upgrade.
I’m also looking at some of these Wolverine leaks & the game seems like a mix-up between Infamous in terms of traversal… & 2018 God of War in terms of combat. There’s even a clip of a fight against a big guy (like a God of War troll boss fight).
This leak is truly enormous.

I’ve been in the PS5 makes no sense camp pretty much since the beginning, there’s so many aspects that just don’t make sense. From a Sony perspective there’s no reason to make one at this time.
Looking at the release schedules insomniac work to I guess it makes sense that a lot of the mechanics they use will be iterations of previous ones as they don’t really have the time available to properly introduce new ones and be sure they will hit with the players. That takes time (as we’ve seen at Rare).
Leak is massive, I’d have a poke myself but it’s only available on the dark web and I don’t have a honeypot machine to go get (and neither should anyone else who doesn’t be safe people).

Not sure I get why he’s arguing semantics like this, other than to score some sympathy votes. It’s too late. The data is out there. It’s over. Insomniac cannot dictate to the world & internet how they should talk about this story & share its details.
Sure the hackers committed a crime. That’s not disputed. But Sony & Insomniac made a mistake as well because their security is clearly fubar.
