Was worried I had got ahead of my skill level in Pragmata, as for the life of me, I could not get passed this giant sand worm bot…then I finally did and was in for a major plot twist and a ton of fighting and cinamatics. So happy to be able to stay playing this masterpiece. I have my next game installed already, Mixtape!

Been playing a lot of arcade type games such as shmups, puzzle, beat em ups and roguelikes. Mamorukun ReCurse!, Pocky & Rocky Reshrined, Under Defeat, Absolum, Cleopatra Fortune S Tribute, Ball x Pit etc. Starting to really enjoy shmups and puzzlers, I think I’m hooked on Mamorukun ReCurse!

So Pragmata has been beaten. Phenominal game, despite the bugs. Even the bug that hit right at what should have been the end where I was about to get Diana on to the ship to leave for Earth and she was just endlessly walking in place. But fuck it, game finished, on to Mixtape!

Just played about 20 minutes os Mixtape. Fun, chill, light hearted so far. Really makes me nostalgic for my big sister. The second my character said how she tapes videos off of MTV, I remembered my sis April did that like EVERY day. Yes kids, believe it or not Music Television used to play music videos :open_mouth:

And if I dared tape over any of them she would slap the shit out of me. My mom would warn her, “one of these days Travis is gonna hit you back and when he does I won’t stop him, because you will deserve it.”

So one day I did…..and my mom grounded me. I was like…

Finished Aphelion. That was a colossal disappointment especially from Dont Nod :frowning:

For a hard sci fi game (even has a cooperation with ESA) there is not a lot of science in this game. And the behaviour of these trained astronauts/scientists makes zero sense. The Source at the end is the worst red herring in all of narrative gaming. I also didnt like how the two characters only talked to themselves and not to each other.

Game play is very shallow, you press through cracks in walls ten times, you slide down mountains twenty times, you ‘climb’ on super linear routes fifty times (this is not Jusant) and you fight through simplistic but janky stealth sections more times than you can stomach.

At least the environments look good and the music fits.

Overall its not as bad as Dear Esther or The Suicide of Rachel Foster but close. Avoid. Play Deliver Us the Moon or Observation instead.

Just did the open field part and this black and white floating backwards part to show how depressed were at that time, in Mixtape. Gorgeous parts, so brilliantly done. Jon’s review said those parts were great and….

Have just done the first 3 chapters of Motorslice, the platforming has gotten more complicated to up the game. Some of it is a little confusing to me at timess, but a quick look around a dark area helps me get back on course.

Also nice of the devs to recognize they made a bridge too long and give us a quicker way across.

Have been also playing Starfield, my new character has reached day four in play time and level 80 without touchibg the new DLC story.

Got married to Sarah again, this time went with a swimsuit wedding since we were on Paradiso. During the survey Paradiso honey moon, I had to choose between space dog and stolen art.

Naturally I chose the dog.

Also found another new to me POI, where I ran into a baby version of an obomination of an aggressive alien. Super fast and hard to hit bevause of their size.

Also planning on adding a Normandy ship mod to the game, but feel a little worried that adding anymore mid game will brake my file.

Just completed Mixtape and FUCK A DUCK, Jon Clarke was right!!!

By the end, single tear rolled off my left eye, like I was was a native American who just witnessed some reckless asshole littering

That was a beautiful masterpiece of a video game

I’m finishing it up myself, went for 1000 cheevos. Game was good fun. More like an interactive movie than a game, but a darn good one! I honestly feel like buying it up on Switch 2 to show my appreciation after playing it on Gamepass.

this game is full of good vibes. Was a nice chill Sunday game for me!

Just started Mixtape. I expected a lot after The Artful Escape and this seems to deliver. These devs know how to write characters and dialogs (:eyes: at the Aphelion staff).

Now that Mixtape is completed, I tried getting back to Replaced, but difficulty spiked HARD, so I instead returned to MOUSE PI. Went well, until the fucking Cheeselegger boss fight kept engaging me so much that I uninstalled it out of petty anger

BUT THEN, I reinstalled Pragmata and discovered the source of every bug that came up my first playthrough is now gone. There used to be this tree stuck in certain areas, which I thought was just some narrative element that I missed. NOPE, was never supposed to be there.

Now it’s gone and everything looks and runs even better. Thanks you non existent tree for no longer existing! And thank you Replaced and Mouse PI for pissing me off so much that I went right back to Pragmata to be able to realise that

Yeah it does, but I loved my time with it regardless.

Completed Borderlands 4: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned expansion. Good 7.0/10. Definitely shorter than I was expecting with only 5 main story missions. Completed the entire new map in less than three days 100%. Now, I went back to the base game to clean up any collectibles I missed and side quests that I didn’t get to. Will clean out as much as possible while waiting for First Light and Lego Batman (will be playing First Light first though mainly due to work next week).

DRGS keeps pulling me back in. I don’t mind though, great game to have on deck if I only want to play for 15 or 20 minutes. I’ve noticed the game has had quite a few updates lately and with that has come a lot of crashing. the game used to crash to xbox menu maybe once every week or two. Now it is doing it on almost every round I play. Really hoping they can work that out.

I started Pragmata on Lunatic and it’s been a blast so far…knowing the mechanics, what each weapon and node is useful for makes this playthrough even better. I am the end of the 3rd area and the second boss was the most challenging thing in the game so far.

Also dropped Replaced at the Uncle Ben boss fight, I love everything about the game except how it plays…the controls are so slow and laggy at times because of the animation priority above anything else and the gazilion frames recovery animations that kill the gameplay for me. Yesterday I had things like missing pistol shots (in the projector fight) and getting damage when I broke the armor of Uncle Ben because the attack spin animation he was in wasn’t cancelled by my attack apparently. The animations are great but they actually get in the way the game plays and that should not be a thing for an action/platformer game. I guess playing on Hard amplified the problems even more…it sucks because I really like the genre and I was waiting to play this one for so long but I just didn’t have fun with the game.

Installed Mixtape after dropping Replaced so I will start this one tonight.

For Replaced, try dodging to cancel animations, I found that no matter what I was doing even in the middle of an attack dodging seems to take priority. (Sorry I misread the animation talk, I thought you tried to attack them to break the animation, but it looks more like you used the pick axe as Ben was attacking)

As for power attacks, yeah we can’t cancel boss power attacks, getting greedy is not reward often in this game. In fact I feel it’s punished because if we get greedy during attacks we can parry, we miss on a parry (which I think does more damage). Either because we knocked the boss from it or they attacked us before we could.

Anyone else struggle to climb the Phoenixpoly sign in Replaced ?

Nevermind: cruising now.

Started Forza Horizon 6 today and I have to say that playground really outdid themselves here. Don’t think I’ll be playing anything else for the next few weeks at least. I did my usual first on day of just driving around and discovering the map, playing on PC fully maxed out at 1440p and it’s quite a sight to behold! It’s an incremental update for sure, but every game has gotten them closer to perfection, and I have a hard time seeing how they’ll be able to top this.

I’ll also have to update my Spotify playlist with all the new Bass Arena tracks I’ve discovered today!

Alao playing FH6 but already feel like I’ve done it all before. It’s as slick and varied and packed as ever, but it all feels… Familiar.

Just Starfield right now, I’m back on and unlikely to stop any time soon, so all other games are taking a back seat.
