I tried joinng in based on everyone else who’s LOVING FH6, as I’ve had access to it for some time being “Jesse brutha” as Nick likes to say, but I resisted because I’m SO not a car guy. So I tried it for about half an hour and…found out I am still not a fan.
That said I can see the appeal as it looks incredible and plays better than any Forza Horizon game I’ve ever tried before. So I understand the appeal and praise it’s getting. It’s just not for me. Back to my second go through of the incredible Pragmata!
So long story short I was super hyped with Devil May Cry 5 when it FIRST launched. I kept up with all the news, played the exclusive demo, pre-ordered the deluxe edition, and then played through it in like record time for me. Then I stayed hooked finished Dante must die for the super costume and clearing the bloody palace for all characters for the special taunts. I was working through s ranking everything when Capcom announced DMC5SE. I was so angry. Barely any time had passed, they wouldn’t do story dlc, it did the bare minimum whereas 4SE had a brand new franchise first mode and 3 new characters (Lady and Trish playable for the first time ever), no co op bloody palace, and wouldn’t even let save files transfer over. I bought it like the loyal dog I am, but couldn’t stomach doing everything over again just for turbo mode. I finished it for Vergils side and started working through the main game again but couldn’t finish. This text will be blurredIt just wasn’t fun anymore.
With DMC5SE on cloud gaming I could hop in without as much dedication (needing to waste space on it), so I decided to finally finish the game on Heaven or Hell (I used an exploit (not really I guess, I just beat the prolong over and over) with Vergil to unlock all difficulties without finishing the campaigns). I wanted to unlock Nero’s full spread for bloody palace. My treat was using the heaven or hell rules to one hit kill Vergil with the iconic **** you transformation you can only get the very FIRST time you do mission 20 (on any difficulty).
Forza Horizon 6 has been and will be consuming most of my gaming time over the next few weeks? Months? Hard to say. Every time I play I find something new to do. Content in this game seems endless. Just today, the playlist steered me into some of the online races. I’m not much of a online multi player person but had loads of fun racing other drivers. This game just keeps impressing me.
Still playing Starfield and just fimished Terran Armada. I have been playing in FPS mode at 60fps, but that final battle really tanked the fos several times.
Could be one if the mods I’m using but I can’t remove them until I finish the main questline. I feel Terran Armada is the shortest storyline so far, with some really long encounters to make it seem lonher. But I thought it was good, just hope they can expand on it for later because of how we can chose how to end it.
Also started At Hells Gate, the mini Doom quest that connects Starfield to the universe. I liked what we got of this quest before and after duplicating the Super Shotgun using McClerance. I switch out the mods a d added the Hornets Nest furing mode.
Honestly Hornets Nest is a broken upgrade that kills anything and everything in a single multiple explosive hit. But they have an arc decreasing their range and if you so much as clip on something in front of you, well we die.
I reinstalled Replaced and am loving it again. Just needed a break from the stress of some of it’s mechanics and now feel comfortable again and got passed the fight that drove me nuts and caused me to uninstall it out of frastration…like a whiny lil bish
So I am playing more games at the same time than I am used to…hopefully it will not end up messy.
Continuing with my Lunatic playthrough on Pragmata and I am just before the boss of the fourth area, Lunatic is a very fun higher difficulty level and should’ve been unlocked from the get go IMO. Finished Mixtape two days ago and loved it, it was a much better game/experience than The Artful Escape for me since it resonated with me much much more. Loved the simple yet very relatable story and characters, writing/dialogue was very natural and fun and the mini-games were pretty good. The soundtrack was one of the best licensed OSTs of all time IMO, especially the last half hour of the game was so elevated by the musical choices. The ending hit me like a truck with the amazing Plainsong being chosen as the last track of the game…fuckin’ hell man. T_T
Also started Luna Abyss which is very good so far, quite a surprising and ambitious effort from an indie studio. Art direction and the world/story of the game are quite unique and crazy so far, I like the visual look of the game too because it reminds me of mid-2000’s FPS games like Prey 2006 & Quake 4. Controls really nice too and gunplay is pretty good.
Oh and I am exploring Japan with every 80’s rally car I can in Forza Horizon 6 which is amazing so far. Just too many great games, 2026 is a crazy year!
Doing a double today so I figure I should play a game on the cloud while on my break.
Started Forza Horizon 6 on it and was able to do the first 2 introductory races over a mobile connection. Before my connection fell apart, for the most part I thought it was controlling pretty well and it looked pretty good to my eyes.
But using touch controls really felt like a bit of a struggle, so after the connection decided to die. I called it quits for cloud gaming.
Just completed Replaced, turned out to be my current runner up for GOTY to Pragmata, at this point. We’ll see if First Light can end up toping it…Replaced, not Pragmata. It would take a LOT for that
got Gamepass essential the other night, been playing Doom + Doom II in co-op online. Love that bundle.
I cleared Gunbird 1 with all the characters on Easy.
Under Defeat I can only get to the end of Stage 3, it’s too hard, even on easy.
I got River City Girls yesterday and it is very good.
Got a tonne of shmups including Gradius Origins and the two Toaplan Arcade Collections, Rain World, Tetris Effect, Celeste etc. gonna be busy for a while. I know everyone is enthralled with Forza, Might pick up Forza Horizon 6 Premium in like a year for 50% off
Had a bit of a bad time figuring out just what the fuck I was supposed to do during the night club level in First Light and went back to my comfort place,Pragmata for a sec. Then I put my big boy pants on, got back to the club.. and Bonds your uncle. Very pleased with that game still
Just completed Pragmata again and with no bug preventing me from getting to that ship. So I got to see the end scenes for myself…AND got some cool gear, new game plus for if I wanna play again in the future
Completed 007: First Light a few minutes ago. Played on a combination of normal and easy. Took just under 20 hours to get through the game. Overall, a great game and very similar to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle where I enjoyed everything except for what matters most to me personally, the combat and to a lesser extent, the overall gameplay.
Visuals - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Audio - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Gameplay/Combat - 7.0/10 (good)
Story/Characters - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Overall - 8.5/10 (great)
The main issues I had with combat/gameplay were the slow paced looking for intel and hints and whatnot. It simply bores me in games. The melee combat is good but the controller configuration is bad and movement is finicky. Camera is also too close at times which prevents you from seeing around you. Shooting is fine, nothing special. Not a fan of having to keep picking up weapons and whatnot. Would have preferred to just keep getting ammo and while you do get ammo, it’s not as much as you would think it would be. The action sequences are great though. However, the vehicle sequences should have been sped up a notch or two. Also, the tutorial chapter which goes for at least two hours bored the absolute shit out of me. They should have streamlined it and made it much shorter. Gadgets were fine. Wasn’t a fan of being limited to how many I can use on missions.
Overall though, great game. I do hope they make the sequel more action focused and faster paced. I don’t mind the slow “Hitman” type missions and setup but not throughout an entire game.
Will be starting Lego Batman this Thursday which im very much looking forward to playing.
Still loving my time with First Light, especially the achievements, as many seem seem to be named after Bond films. Now I am no fan of most of those films, ESPECIALLY the Brosnan ones as they took shit WAY too far. And I’m not even a person who’s ever cared about achievements, but the awesome shit you have to do in this game to get said achievements makes them truly live up to the name
I am getting my ass kicked by Samurai Aces, even on easy. I can get to the second last or last stage (I don’t know) boss and then he just perforates me.
Started Mina the Hollower. I chose the dual blades as my starting weapon but I’m thinking about restarting and picking the flail. Very nice game, i like the art style and the level design is well made.
In River City Girls I made it to the second boss. I was getting beaten, so I looked it up online. I’m doing everything right so I just went back and bought healing items. Next time I should beat him and move on to stage 3.
The Elliot demo is crazy good. What the hell? Is this what OG Zelda was like? The gameplay is simplistic so far but it works and I do like the simplicity. The voice acting and art work is also insane. I’ve instantly fallen in love with the characters, and I need to learn more about the world. It is really really good so far. The only issue is that I’ve not been convinced to pay $60 or $70 for it. I’d pay $40 and be the happiest person in the world at $30, but $60 for what feels like a very classic game is steep. I was similar with Octopath. An absolutely fantastic game, but no matter how good it is I have trouble justifying a $60+ purchase for a game that classic. Like yeah the medium is entirely subjective, but paying $70 for 007 First Light and $70 for Elliot Deluxe Edition is a tad difficult for me to justify.
I pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition for Xbox Series X as I played the demo last summer on Switch 2. I’m all in. I can see the price perhaps being high but at the same time, I spent $70 on First Light and I see that game as being more like a $50 title. To each their own. Either way, im super hyped for Elliot as I loved Link to the Past and to a lesser extent, Link’s Awakening Remake.
I haven’t finished first light so I really shouldn’t comment on it lol. For all I know it’s a game I’ll finish in 2 hours. It’s mostly that I’m not used to playing games like the oldee Zelda games and not say Breath of the Wild. I’ve little experience with the genre aside from literally this game.
