I believe its just one guy, with support from a few on audio and music. If not, still a very small studio, it’s called Askiisoft. Published by Devolver Digital.
Katana Zero is fucking legit, loving my time with it so far.
It’s pretty darn amazing, unfortunately I’d already played it and waiting for the DLC that the developer has promised, hope that’s sometime soon cuz I did think the game was a bit short. However in that short experience itself, the gameplay, music, art style, story were all extremely enjoyable.
I started playing it last night as well. Really good game. Love finding these Indie gems.
Yep really amazing little game. Love the concept and everything else. The OST is really good.
They want to be the Netflix of gaming, so they need 1 or 2 new AAA game every month, that’s why they need more than 23 studio.
All of a sudden I see my Twitter feed flooded with Ubisoft pictures (as in that MS has bought Ubisoft). Anyone an idea where those rumors have started? I don’t believe the rumor to be honest, but would like to see where this originates from.
Did a quick look down the rabbit hole, and it all starts with some ‘insider’ on Reddit.
Ubisoft of a publicly traded company and the majority shareholders are the Guillemot family. If a deal has happened, we could have known by now
I don’t think they will buy a publisher with 18,000 employees. For example T2 5,000, Capcom 2,800, Bethesda 2,300, Square Enix 4,500. So Ubisoft have more employees than 4 big publishers, that’s why acquiring Ubisoft is a big problem.
Do you still have the link ?
I mean, they had at least one larger acquisition fall through (TikTok) and have a ton of cash, and the fact that gaming has never been bigger for Xbox than it is now, pretty much guarantees that more were on the way. I’m not saying it’s going to be as large as Bethesda (I also have no sources whatsoever), but the ad nauseam “temper your expectations” were atomized when Bethesda was purchased (pun intended); given the clear indications from Satya and Phil, it’s very clear that things aren’t going to slow down from an acquisition front.
Yeah, I don’t really believe it either. But thanks nonetheless !
Ubi has more than 18.000 employees. There is no chance MS would buy them
Think Warner Bros instead of Zenimax when it comes to massive publicly traded company acquisitions. You’re going to know that talks are taking place well before a purchase is ever made.
Not true. Ubisoft makes no sense.
They already have their big games coming out, so no exclusives.
They have a solid PC launcher unlike Bethesda.
They’re expensive and could’ve been purchased before.
There is less synergy.
Ubisoft is way to big.
Incorporating a huge France company is a lot harder than a big US company.
EU would probably block it.
It just makes no sense. It’s bullshit. Ubisofts IP portfolio is strong, tho
Yeah Ubi just fended off a buyout a couple years back, they’re not going to be bought by anyone. I think the industry is better for it too.
Exactly, correct me if I’m wrong didn’t Microsoft hire a high level person from Netflix to bring a Netflix mentality to gamepass.
They hired back Jerret West to Xbox. I think we’re definitely going to see a couple of acquisitions over the next year or so still, ranging from small to large; they need to have the constant content if they want to be Netflix for gaming over the next decade+.
That actually proves they are vulnerable. I don’t think MS will touch Ubisoft but facing hostile takeover in the past is not a great sign.
There’s definitely a lot of chatter about Xbox and Ubisoft right now. Interesting.
