Xbox Acquisition |OT5| Talking Exclusively About Xbox Acquisitions

A Scalebound revival would be cool and then MS can buy the studio and put them under their new publisher Sega.

Microsoft will be storing away 20 billion in profit every quarter. So while they already have plenty to afford any game publisher they want, they’ll also have an extra 80 billion in a year. And it’ll be at least that long before they buy another publisher.

huh?

But Microsoft doesnt revolve around Xbox in the same way Sony doesnt revolve around Playstation.

All that money isnt gaming only.

And even if only a fraction is for Xbox they still have by far enough with that fraction to even acquire the Take Twos of the world.

By the time Xbox is pulling the trigger on another publisher it will likely be 2024 and Microsoft will have around 200 billion cash (if they don’t make another massive buy by then).

Side note the 20 billion in cash they stack away is based on their projected net income which is after projected dividends.

More signs Korea is a growing console presence.

Some people often look down on Square Enix for their mainly Japanese appeal but Japanese games appeal all over the east and the west.

China is a very important market and if Xbox can’t at least provide viable content for that location they’d lose out a huge foothold of world market share.

The cool thing is, I believe the ABK will bring in Xbox’s first Chinese studio (aside from a satellite studio for Minecraft maybe).

From a pure business perspective I don’t think there is any doubt that EA and Take Two would be far better than Capcom. I’m not even sure how anyone could mount a rational argument against that.

I don’t agree with the precise order of your list, but you aren’t far off from my personal gaming taste either. I would have Ubi much higher and Square lower - and I don’t know enough about Smilegate to have an intelligent opinion. I don’t play any Capcom games I can think of - though I own Monster Hunter and like the concept of it.

I don’t play GTA, but even excluding that there are 4-5 Take Two franchises I would take over anything Capcom has - Red Dead, Civ, XCom, NBA 2K, WWE - those first three are in my favorite franchises of all time.

I would acquire your taste, but it seems we already agree!

Ha. Completely forgot about Bioshock, but the original trilogy is certainly among my favorites of all time. I hope the new one under the new team can live up to the legacy.

Bioshock still the og.

Thought the third game was the worst and the first the best.

Infinite was Levines ego at its worst

I wonder if Platinum wants to do Scalebound enough to agree to joining XGS, overall I think the game is going to be revived if both parties take the conversation seriously but it really only makes sense if Platinum becomes a first party studio.

edit: I take that back it makes sense to do it regardless.

CDPR shouldn’t really be on anyones wishlist right now. The most overpriced dev out there.

May be off topic but for the longest time the other side insulted xbox fans for doing acquisition discussion and now they are doing is so regularly that they are making tier lists .
