I think someone replied in an other thread that they’re just making excuses, or the Devs are not familiar with current policies, at this point because all those clauses have been eliminated when ID@Xbox became a thing. I do wish that this will get Microsoft to reach out and explain the changes and even help with getting the game released earlier.
Actually in the replies of that tweet ID@Xbox replied that they’re looking into it. I think it was bad research on the dev’s part and they may have been confused with some old policies.
I think this is an overreaction. This undying Japanese loyalty that keeps being brought up over the stigma of big bad American companies buying them is way overstated. Both Capcom and Sega were open to selling to MS in the early 2010’s during the Japanese publisher crisis when everyone was doing horrible. MS said no to Sega for whatever reason, and Capcom was going to be bought out until Monster Hunter became a global phenom and saved them.
I can understand the rest but why is this publisher high in the list ?
the publisher is just crossfire and lost ark at this point.
they are too expansive for what they offer, Pearl Abyss would be better buy if they want publisher/studio in KR.
I doubt they get any of the Japanese publishers
Ahhh do you realize they won’t quit just right ? i mean even some of these companies now want to make PC their Main Platform like Capcom and guess who all of platform holder support PC day 1 ?
the worst case scenario is keeping COD multiplatform, but sony refused GP so yeah they themselves didn’t want COD
Same for me, and that goes for Sony too. I just don’t see this acquisition spree hitting the major Japanese publishers.
Now, some, even if just one, studio acquisitions, I can and expect MS to do.
idk if SE or Capcom want to sell then MS would jump on it. it’s all about IPs.
we know two publishers wanted to sell and MS got two of them.
Zenimax and Activision Blizzard.
i mean didn’t MS tried to get Capcom back in 2017/2018 ?
the title is funny because I’m 100% not satisfied, I don’t think anyone on this website was clamoring for this company to be bought

You also doubted they would buy any other publisher and here we are 70B later.
Activision does very little for me with its catalogue lol. Like close to nothing other than giving xbox a massive workforce for future stuff.
I’m only in it for the chance of revived IPs. When Hexen was mentioned it was like they were talking to me specifically. It was one of my favorite games on N64.
Activision is sit and wait scenario, blizzard would mostly be PC games and Activision outside of Toy for bob we might get new IPs. i don’t see a lot of Activision old IPs coming back.
It wasnt a Japanese publisher though. 70bn buys them everyone in Japan, instead they bought Activision.
because Activision wanted to sell, if any Big Publisher from JP want to sell now i guarantee to you MS would bid for them. Especially SE and Capcom
Im honestly not sure they would. Thier progress in Japan is so slow, they are just about getting ports on the console.
it’s all about IPs, do you think FF or MH have only fans in JP ? these are worldwide IPs by now, MS would love to own MH IP big game on PC and perfect game for GP.
All they said was that they were open to a “friendly takeover” when Capcom and other Japanese publishers were going through a tough financial time in the early 2010’s and MS was apart of those talks. Apparently they got really far into the negotiations up until Monster Hunter saved them
