Asked it seems
If Xbox really repair Activision Blizzard foundation, then Ubisoft staff would love to be acquired. Otherwise, more and more members will leave.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Atlus is the roadblock to buy Sega.
I read some weeks ago someone saying that Ubisoft was not very interesting to buy because they have double the size of Activision (would cost a lot) while having very low revenues and profits compared to them (or some other publishers).
Which I get! But if we’re looking at it objectively, you can really make an argument for any of the big ones out there aside from Konami.
They have IP and talent which are the number 1 things MS is looking for, MS doesn’t make their money off Xbox so profits/revenue from these companies won’t really come into account.
Wouldn’t surprise me if the owners of Ubisoft are feeling the same way they did at Activision - “we’ve got a fucking mess on our hands and this might be time to take our solid gold parachutes and cash out”. They’re a bit of an odd company though, they have a relatively huge number of staff making relatively modest profits for a company it’s size - I’m not sure they’d be of huge interest to Microsoft or Sony. Still, despite their issues and a lack of innovation their games mostly still review and sell well and they have a ton of IPs. I’m more inclined to imagine that if they make any move it’ll be somewhere still in the 3rd party publisher space. Or Amazon, eugh.

I picture Atlus locking themselves in the closet while Sega is knocking and telling them to come out.
I straight up imagine Phil, Mikami, and Todd walking into a room and letting Todd say “It just works!” repeatedly until they finally give in.![]()
Ubisoft are 45 studios and 19k+ workers. Thats a hell of a lot to integrate/add into your company at once
Atlus: I will not have my Persona on Game Pass.
Todd: Come out already. Game Pass is great. It just works.
If Microsoft would buy Ubisoft, they would be the biggest employer in the gaming industry by far, right?
Would be around 35K if I’m not wrong.

Rayman >>> Sonic

don’t @ me Sonic stans.
If someone was really to buy Ubisoft, I could see Amazon honestly.
I suppose, having argued why it’s unlikey to be Microsoft or Sony just a minute ago - the other side of the argument is if you scaled back the absurd overproduction of Ubisoft games that leaves a LOT of teams who could work on their own projects, or function as support teams for a wider infrastructure. I’m sure both Sony and Microsoft could benefit from that.
since Luna (does that still even exist, i cant remember hearing about that since its annoucement) has ubisoft service on it, i wouldnt be surprised if Amazon get them (if Ubi sell)
No lie detected
