That’s not a bad bet.
Would be a shame, because I don’t really see them fixing their problems.

Looks like every company now is on the acquisition menu
. I dont think Ubisoft is gonna be bought by Microsoft during Activision FTC review.
I do wonder why everyone is now selling.
Do we really need to do this any time someone mentions a publisher/studio someone doesn’t like? We get it, you don’t like Sega but we can do better than the reductionist derailing that often results. This is the acquisitions thread, and your preferences fit better in any of the other community threads.
Other way to look at these acquisitions is that MS brings in money to gaming industry from outside of it
They are literally putting there earned money from windows and cloud onto the gaming industry
While, companies like Sony and T2 are putting the money they earned from the gaming industry itself
Do I make any sense here… Is there any big relevance in this thought?
well that seems like a nothing burger then
Everyone is not selling, but everyone who can is potentially buying. Those pubs/devs with cash needs, or problematic trends (take that as you will) are seeing the cash that’s being thrown around and seeing what sticks.
Yep, big companies are now paying big bucks for studios now and have a different approach to managing studios from the past, which is now leave them alone, invest to grow them, and potentially leave them multiplatforms.
Honestly, if MS can they should go for it. I think they won’t though, expecialy not until the ActiBlizz deal is still open. Sega is still a better option with a better value.
With so many games in development hell, they’d be an interesting purchase.
Best support studio structure in the gaming business.
The synergies by buying them could be really great.
I could easily see Amazon going after Ubisoft.
Another one would be Apple, if the rumors are true, that Apple wants to get in the console business.
And they can all make Call of Duty ![]()
“We said we’d get the studios you like out of the call of duty mines, we didn’t say new ones wouldn’t be replacing them” ![]()
I’ve gone to the dark side again. With all this competition in the industry, they can buy EA after this. Do that. Fulfill gamepass day 1 potential.
My kids have no idea who Rayman is (and we only played Legends a year ago at most).
Sonic however…
honestly UBI can be a play for EA ![]()
10 years from now, how many publishers and studios do you think Microsoft will have
7 publishers (XGS, Bethesda, Activision, Blizzard, King and 1 more console/pc publisher and 1 more mobile publisher) and 71 studios.

But no… not really, I think we’re going to see a few more publishers sell but I don’t foresee them all coming under Microsoft for obvious reasons.
I have been saying for some time that ATVI deal changed the landscape. When 70b are thrown around people will pay attention. So even Capcom might become available.
