Xbox Game Studios |OT3| Once more....with feeling (Part 1)

Brad Sams specifically mentioned “Gaming IPs” in his tweet, Maybe Warner Bros still doesnt know what to do with their IP, maybe SEnix is trying to sell Deus Ex and others, maybe Xbox is trying to get KOTOR and Indiana Jones from Disney, well se i guess.

Hmmm we’ll see

I wonder what gaming IP would Microsoft consider to be a must have for the company? They’d probably love to own Destiny if i had to guess.

Yea thats a good question they should nab knights of the republic that was a huge thing on the original Xbox

Doesn’t EA currently own the video game rights for Star Wars?

The recent IP crossover from movies to games and vice versa got me thinking about the possibility of Xbox getting an IP exclusively say like the Mandalorian or any Marvel character in exchange for Disney+ getting to make a Minecraft/Elder Scrolls series exclusively on their platform.

This could lead to some interesting partnerships, while benefitting both mutually. Currently IPs like Halo and Fallout are being licensed out with Xbox benefiting only through exposure and revenue? Don’t really know how these deals work though.

Yes they own the rights for now, But the license will expire in 2023 , And apparently after Lucasfilm Games recreation It appears that there is no intention to renew the contract from Disney side , And in most cases apparently they will give the rights to more than one development studio like what happens with Marvel ips

I wonder if it will sour the EA/MS partnership if Disney gives MS more IP, even the Starwars IP.

Lol why would that happen? After 2023, star wars ip shall be free reign for everyone to access. If its before that, then there could end up being some friction but after their licensing term is over, they just won’t have sole leverage over the IP

Well I’m sure EA want the licence still, if Disney starts giving MS the IP surely EA wouldn’t like that. idk just thinking out loud haha I don’t think anything will happen but just a thought.

Tbh it’s not EA won’t get to make star wars games anymore just that they won’t be the only ones to do it. There’s still gonna be every possibility for JFO 2 from Respawn, which is actually like the second highest selling game of 2020, which is crazy to think about, there’s no way EA is sleeping on that. So yea, it’s just time EA stopped being the only guys who could make star wars games.

Yeah I guess it’s a really good move, they can give EA some titles without locking the entire Starwars IP to them. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it like that haha. They could give a MS team a open world RPG or something while giving EA Battlefront and FO. Opens up so many options!

With new Lucasfilms politic of giving IP at everyone, it would be very cool for Microsoft to get rights of making KOTOR

And It would be interesting to grab IOI and James Bond IP. Xbox could be the place to play James Bond and Indiana Jones

Halo Wars 2 multiplayer and Horde modes are so damn good. It’s almost 4 years and it never gets boring. Finding 3v3 games in 30 sec/ 1 min which is great.

I look forward to this, because with WHF they showed how much potential they have. Some really good stuff in that game.

Yeah, that’d be amazing.

Yeah, while I think a definite statement would be preferred, since they can’t have one yet due the acquisition not being done have people guessing is the best free PR they can get.

All those: “Bethesda can’t ignore Playstation” articles will add up positively when the games are revealed as exclusives.

Could this person be one of my people?

Another thing is too, I feel like people might downplay a game if they know it’s Xbox exclusive like they can go without playing it. But if it wasn’t announced as a Xbox game it might be different, I don’t know if that’s stretching a bit but I have seen loads of comments and even videos where someone says the game looked cool and said “OH it’s a Xbox game forget about it” when it comes up with the Xbox logo or along those lines. Them going into the trailer knowing it is a Xbox game will put a different lens on imo.
