Stupid question : can I jump into Psychonauts 2 without having played the first one ? I want to know if I should invest time on the first one. I have it, but I’m not sure it holds up well. Am I missing out ?
With all the proclamations of the first one being a classic, why not give it a try?
OG obviously, they never remastered the game.
Maybe he believes in generations
Yeah, I know. I think I launched the download a couple time before and then uninstall
. I think I will try it, see the levels and if I like the gameplay.
Psychonauts 2 looks awesome, so I’m sure I will be invested.
I think all of us original psychonauts fans on this site would love it to hit those high numbers but the sad reality is it’s:
- A crowdfunded project (not completely relevant but i still think will sadly be weighed into the score)
- Not in the right genre at the moment
- cross gen and thus to some graphically underwhelming
Gonna go with an solid 80-83 score range providing no damning launch issues.

Mentioned formerly I would like 3rd person adventure game by The Initiative set in desert theme:
Found this image, should be useful : )
Because xbox was failing and on the verge to be shut down?
Or as was stated above most of the projects got cancelled
Oh, I’m roasted here I see ! ![]()
Ok, guys I’ll play it. Just a bit busy these days. I’ll play it next week, I promise.
(I’m so scared by his laugh…)
Haha, I know. Creeps me out everytime ![]()
Sounds good! I’ll definitely go play it when it arrives on GP. A while ago I saw some older footage of Psychonauts 2 and the level design looked awesome. I think DF will have a big hit on their hands. I wonder what kind of enhancements for XSX we’ll get.
Where’s that from though?
Wait, hold on, it says that they had four projects in the pipeline. When is this from? Because one is obviously Psychonauts 2 and Rad is likely another, but what are the other two?
Yea but because of the acquisition and bigger budget, the game you are going to get in 2021 will be way more polished and higher visual fidelity than the game you would have gotten in 2018.
Yep… with microsoft funding, they were able to reintegrate boss fights.
That explains it then.
