Xbox Game Studios |OT5| DOOM posting not allowed. Except for posting about DOOM

Am I the only one who’s surprised about the low number of open positions for inxile and the initiative? Have they staffed up so much already? Or might the “inXile has the biggest budget of all rpg’s” be untrue? Cause they can’t be that big already can they?

Inxile is just starting their new game, when they enter full production they’re going to hire like crazy.

The Initiative has one of the best teams around and a lot of time to do some great work and maybe they’re being helped by The Coalition as well.

Similar to Obsidian, they have a ton of industry vets who have been with Fargo since the Interplay days.

Recently, I think they hired the head combat designer of GOW (2018).

Zenimax Online has +400 or +450 employees I believe

We now know what most of XGS is up to, but one we don’t really know yet. Tango. Apparently the majority of them is not on Ghostwire Tokyo, and I wonder what Mikami is up to.

I believe it was during the Bethesda roundtable that Phil said he looked forward to going to Japan and visit Tango. I bet we’ll see a tweet once he’s going or after the trip. But boy am I curious what Mikami is planning on making with a budget like what MS provides.

Mikami did say he wants to direct one last game, but only if its exactly what he wants to make. So presumably phil is funding the fuck out of that haha

That would be great. Xbox is in full favor of creative freedom so nothing should be stopping Mikami. We could be getting some pretty crazy stuff. One thing I just realized actually, that Xbox now has their own horror studio too. They truly are covering almost all bases in gaming.

The more and more I watch and learn about Redfall the higher up my list it goes for games I’m excited about! I think the initial trailer threw me off but it seems like it could be very special.

Any details in particular that stood out to you?

Game is co-directed by the Game Directors of Dishonored, Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Prey:Mooncrash (and lead designer of Prey). It’s going to be a banger.

Game Pass and being first party is going to be so huge for Arkane. Crazy people like myself tend to gloss over a lot of the third party games. Its been kind of eye opening.

Just the idea of all the mechanics and systems that make dishonored and Prey such unique and special games combined in an open world setting with a cool aesthetic.

Yeah the trailer doesn’t really convey that it’s an Arkane game although I think I’ve grown to like it

I think it was more of “this is project omen???” That got to us but Im EXTREMELY hyped.

Yeah I was not expecting this from the rumors

I feel like a lot of folks were expecting some Nosferatu like setting or something and when they saw what we got, they melted down for a minute.

I’m hoping the game is unsettling/scary, the trailer had some “banter” which gives me borderlands/basically every co op game of the last decade vibes.

I am hoping in redfall I can play the game without my character making jokes about the entire game every 30 seconds. That’s my only “worry” so far.

LTTP but I finally got around to Gears Hivebusters and it was a very fun and gorgeous little ride! I would love to see more stand-alone Gears stories like it or even a continuation of this story. With bite-sized SP experiences I think they could experiment a lot with enemies, weapons, and encounter design.
