Xbox Game Studios |OT5| DOOM posting not allowed. Except for posting about DOOM

maybe MS/Xbox wants to save Avowed for another opportunity. hopefully, they came back with X02x, Inside Xbox etc. there are still things like TGA at the end of the year.

Yeah but then it’s not “ready”. I mean if a trailer looks good, is polished and ready to be shown, it should be shown. Basically, other than that, I don’t see any reason as why they wouldn’t show it. If not, then they can wait until X021.

not really i mean no one (insiders) has seen any trailer to comment on it , so we dont know what it looks like, everyone is just guessing at this point.

MS have a lot of games to show as well, to me it makes sense they want to differentiate by showing off more then one game in a genre

Sponger makes it sound like the game is ready to be shown. Even if it’s not a trailer with only gameplay but a mix of ingame bits and CG or cutscene, that’s absolutely fine! But if it’s not a 2022 release, then that could be a valid reason (since they focus on games in upcoming 18 months) to keep it away. Even though personally I’d love to see something that is still farther away.

And that’s assuming XO21 is even a thing. If the trailer is ready, and they mean E3 2022 with “there will be time in the future” then…sigh. But makes sense sadly if it’s indeed not a 2022 release. Even if that trailer might contain gameplay and not only CG.

i mean that one was obvious

Does he mean that they managed to have a publishing deal but it is too early to show something, or that things are still in discussion ?

Kojima+XGS confirmed ??? :chief_think:

last update he gave was it was with the lawyers?

Hindle this logic is flawed in the world of gamepass or in gaming in general where the main attraction to the service is games, games and games. Biggest showing of the year and you dont want to show more than one game per genre due to an imaginary gaming quota?

I mean those at Obsidian and at Microsoft. I would like to believe that Spencer is watching every trailer with a microscope to ensure the Halo trailer from last year doesn’t happen again. Forget insiders, half the time they’re wrong and the other half, they change their mind and say something else.

I’m expecting it to be there for one reason - the end of last year’s trailer was gameplay and a year later, I would be surprised if Obsidian didn’t put together a gameplay trailer.

Even if Avowed is say, early 2023 but gameplay is ready, they need to show it in my opinion. X021 im expecting to return because they’re not launching consoles this year which is why they skipped last year.

Yes.

it will be huge when the next Kojima game is exclusive for Xbox eco… and D1 on Game Pass. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nothing flawed about it. You dont shoot one game in the foot by putting it in a same show as another project that’s going to be the talk of the town. The hype for SF will be immense, and will overshadow any other game in the same genre.m in terms of hype, youtube, awards etc

i would love for it to be there, i would do a back flip, but Grubb just double down on resetera that it won’t be at E3, so i guess we wait and see??

Like we dont know what state Avowed is in either

Shooting Avowed in the foot would be is if it released a few days before or after Starfield. Not showing gameplay trailer at E3 when a lot of people including me want to see it. I could end up seeing Avowed and be way more hyped for it than Starfield so if a gameplay trailer is ready, they need to show it. Instead of holding the gameplay trailers, let them hold CGI trailers until they become gameplay.

Have to wait and see. I’m not expecting Hellblade 2, Fable, Indiana Jones or Perfect Dark. If you take away Avowed, then does that mean every trailer is CGI again? At this point, better off just waiting to see what happens.

Okay so then it should just be a 90 minute Starfield showcase and nothing else. Also, Halo Infinite is a sci-fi FPS. Starfield is a sci-fi FP RPG. Not that much of a difference. Avowed is a high fantasy FP RPG so at least there’s difference there.

The general games media will be all over Starfield this E3. Avowed will not gets its coverage due to this

So we know that according to several sources Xbox will focus on games coming relatively soon, so like this year and 2022. Apparently they want to have a gameplay focus, which is great. So games that are far out and would have nothing but CG are put back, good.

But assuming Obsidian has a trailer ready that shows something tangible from Avowed, I say make the exception for this. Show that you’re not “afraid” to showcase something that is still 1.5 to 2 years out, especially even more so when that trailer shows actually something people want to see…ingame bits or even gameplay.

Begin the Obsidian part with a update on Grounded and then let the dev say something like “and last year we debuted our new AAA RPG, it’s coming along very nicely, here’s a first look on it, enjoy!”.

Sponger says the team is very confident and the game is in great shape. Don’t know, but sounds to me things are going very nicely.
