Xbox Game Studios |OT7| Killer News Here!?

Oh yes, lots actually. RPG’s is top of the list of course. After that I have 3rd person action adventure, storydriven shooters, arcade racers is a “new” favourite after FH4, grand strategy games…

Overall I’m less concerned with the genre and more interested in good stories, interesting characters, interesting worlds and being immersed. But I also enjoy things like arcade racing, strategy, good gunplay etc. Very broad taste.

Some of the games/series I have enjoyed the most:

Red Dead Redemption, The Witcher, Assassin’s Creed, Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, Forza Horizon, Fallout, Pillars of Eternity, Divinity Original Sin, Gears of War, Battlefield, Life is Strange, Psychonauts, Hellblade, EVE Online, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Far Cry, Titanfall 2, Wasteland, The Elder Scrolls…

Some genres I really don’t care for are: Fighting games, most platformers, racing sims, mobas, JRPG, sports games to name a few.

Competitive is also an important component of Halo. I’m quite excited to see how it is.

You sleep now, but you’re not ready, what you’ve been waiting for is coming.

Crackdown 4.

Killer Instinct would be 10/10 for me obviously from my avatar lol. KI was the only game I could go back to on my Xbox One and play over and over. It was the game that kept delivering. Like the reason why I think of the Xbox One era fondly was just because of KI and Ori… and Cuphead. D4 too. Like I remember playing Gears for the first time but the mechanics of KI were just something else.

Would this mean anime Killer Instinct? Lol

I wouldn’t mind KI with Strive’s engine. DBFighterz looked insnane. If Ark is working in the game I could at the very least be confident that their art direction would be solid.

Proven!? You too?!

And I would be happy for you if KI returned! For me though it’s the bottom of the barrel crap  Never cared for fighting games, they suck on so many levels and ticks 0 boxes of what I’m looking for with a game.

I’ve been rallying for them forever. Game got added to Evo at one point.

I’m not the biggest fan of fighting games either ( mainly because i’m really bad at them ), but if a new Killer Instinct were to be announced, I would be hyped to see other people being hyped about it.

Hey! Rude!

Same. I love Smash Bros, Power Stone, and the story modes in Netherrealm games. That’s about it. But they should still totally do KI.

Damn I thought this studio was still independent. Mfs getting bought up left and right.

It won’t be long before ArcSys gets acquired by Sony too, presuming they’re gonna be just as aggressive this gen about fighting games. I’m confident there have at least been talks between em, even if it went nowhere for now. Other than that, it is not even difficult to imagine Sony tryna lock down SF6 again (maybe timed this time), and eyeing the MvC2 remaster/port.

Either way, KI gotta return and hopefully Iron Galaxy’s the one to do it after they get done with the Uncharted port. Just give em massive amounts of money and time this time.

Yea one of my friends thinks sony is very greedy despite being a playstation only guy and he has never trashed halo at all unlike ps fanboys its nice to meet someone who isn’t like that

Tbh in this specific case, I wouldn’t consider Sony greedy, they’re just being super aggressive with certain core genres that have become basically synonymous with their brand. In the same way they did “FF7 = playstation”, they’ll do “Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, etc = PlayStation”. Like there’s no FGC and Evo without playstation today, and they basically own the latter. In the same way Xbox locked down some of the biggest and best wrpg studios, Sony is doing that with fighting games, even if they aren’t straight up acquiring (but that has changed recently and they’ve shown they are accelerating first party growth drastically as well). And to their benefit, third parties like ArcSys aren’t even needing to release on Xbox for Sony to worry enough about losing them to others, but they’re still gonna remain aggressive.

Yep but like others have said Microsoft needs to be more aggressive with locking down ips like that and om sure in time they will

I’m referring to Iron Galaxy. Double Helix came in after them. Regardless, any dev will probably have to come in and build off of the original formula for KI. It’s not your avg fighter and that’s it’s allure.
