100% false. He is already on the brink of achieving just that without checking any of these perceived biases at the door and Xbox continues to provide him with content despite them. Clearly they don’t see it the same way and that is because they know the score. What Geoff thinks about anything is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is getting content in front of viewers and they aren’t going to pull content from the eyeballs of millions of viewers because the host doesn’t squirt in his slacks over the perfect dark trailer.
Would be hard to steal the thunder of something that was teased over a year ago
Which I then told Grubb about
Is PlayStation OK? And Hideo Kojima Xbox talks | GB Decides 191
@Shpeshal_Nick were you told whose making it?
Didnt you confirm in a video a few months back that you were talking about Killer Instinct in this video after Phil was asked about it on another podcast?
Or am I remembering wrong?
Also when did the Undead Labs guy leave, and on a scale of 1-10 how much should i be concerned
Zero point Zero. His campus thing is partially funded by Xbox, they’re on great terms.
No shit.

There’s a rumour
There’s a rumour

Oh shit, I totally forgot that they spoke of a vertical slice themselves.
Exciting to think that we’re going to see something by this studio that is pretty much guaranteed to blow minds.
Wait til his next game is a timed exclusive for Playstation before you worry.
The timeline goes:
I said “Something isn’t dead” July 2020
Then I had Jeff Grubb on the podcast at Christmas where I told him off air the game I Was referring to was KI (which he later confirmed)
Jeff then mentioned it on his podcast
Jez also mentioned it not being dead somewhere in there
THen yes, Phil said something about looking for the right partner or something but they’re not done with it. Which is literally what I had said way back in July 2020

Sorry @Friday I had to steal your post
So have they found that right partner now?
Interested in who’s making it.
Two possibilties:
- It’s a traditional fighting game studio.
- It’s not by a fighting game studio.
Couldn’t be Netherrealm, so maybe NWay who made Power Rangers? Iron Galaxy?
I could have SWORN, SWORN, SWORN, I heard somewhere that Playful pitched a KI sequel to Xbox.
@Shpeshal_Nick will you at least be hinting at whom the partnet might be? If they are a fighting game studio or not?
Or are you not at liberty to discuss that yet?
The Power Rangers dev would be an interesting for KI, I think they could pull it off. Wouldn’t want Netherrealm anywhere near it though. Whomever they get I hope it has a bigger budget this time.
There’s not a lot of fighting games studios, so if it’s a fighting game studio we could probably guess it.
My gut says that IF and this is a big IF then it’s probably not by a traditional fighting game company.
Double Helix has no fighting experience when they launched Season 1.
