Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

This is very true. If they can somehow surprise us all with Avowed in the first half and Starfield moves to holiday, that won’t hurt nearly as much as if it’s just only Redfall in the first half. We’ll just have to wait and see. Probably won’t see a release date announcement thus year anymore anyway.

Reading the thread now, apparently it’s old, from late 2021.

It did :sunglasses:

5.26GB update for Psychonauts 2, wonder what this is.

My new prediction for 2023 is -

  • February/March - Redfall
  • May - Avowed
  • August - Contraband
  • November - Starfield

Plus a few small AA exclusives released between the big AAA titles.

Jez just confirmed Project Chinook (sp?) and that its a very accessible strategy game coming to xbox and pc.

He said it was in the Nvidia leaks.

New codename?

Yeah, it was from the Nvidia leaks reportedly

think we’ll ever get a Crackdown 4?

I think Crackdown still has potential if they make the gameplay more like Saints Row or Just Cause and also expand more on the campaign, multiplayer, and also add more to the locations and character abilities and customizations.

By XGS or via publishing?

another strategy game? Jeez MS enough aleady, other genres need it a lot more

Why doesn’t Microsoft work with Xbox Game Studios Globa publishing to work with Indepdent game developers so they can have more exclusives and content for Game Pass?

They did it with like Ori and that’s it, they should’ve signed 12 Ori type games last gen. It could give them natural growth partners for acquisitions in a safe way.

Well, they are the important player on PC market. Age of Empire + incoming Warcraft / Starcraft + codenames.

Maybe but it’s not the most appealing to xbox players

Im fine with them making some and its great that Age is back but these constant strategy games feels like a little too much for what is a relatively niche genre

That’s true. Though ironically I think it is very appealing on both PC and mobile :joy:

Microsoft is more than just Xbox. And strategy games are a great way to grow PC Gamepass

XGSP seems to have a dozen or so projects, so having 1-2 strategy games is not that bad.
