Xbox Games Showcase & Starfield Direct |OT| SPOILER FREE

MGS3R is a given, it’s been a given since that first rumor, I am not surprised at all. GTA 6 is never ever going to happen, not afraid of that. I actually don’t know what they could have money hatted that would piss me off. Castlevania remains to be seen who even makes it too.

Well, for me it’s still a bit of a hassle with PC. I game solely in my living room while sitting on the couch. With PC I would need a mouse to navigate the desktop, would I not? While I control everything with the controller on my Xbox. There’s also the matter of game sharing, my bro has a PS5 so we will be using game sharing options. Also PS5 exclusives don’t really day and date on PC, at least not yet.

I made a thread last year about maybe considering going for PC gaming altogether, but I still haven’t done so. I believe there were some cons mentioned too.

Silent Hill II and MGS3 I would be okay with, even though the “long story together” excuse still seems like bs to me. Castlevania would piss me off tbh.

I stand by my meltdown over PlayStation getting a KOTOR exclusive :joy: if anything time has proven us right. The game is in development hell and Sony never thought through the decision beyond’hey that will really piss off xbox fans’. Xbox should’ve been in the drivers seat with a KOTOR game. Hand picked the studio, budget, and everything about the production. PlayStation has given no indications that they will do right by the franchise.

Super excited to be on with the big boys. This is almost always what I look forward to the most every year and it’s rare that I come out disappointed.

Here’s to a great show and a great time for everyone!

Maybe The Witcher remake? I can’t really think of anything else really.

Yeah, something like that would piss me off big time. But I don’t see that being the case, not if MS has not been sleeping.

Those taste awful! I’ll probably make a fresh cuppa hah

Never. PlayStation threw CDproject under the bus with Cyberpunk. It played better on Xbox and had its marketing with Xbox. PlayStation had a garbage refund policy so they removed it from their store and attempted to put all the heat on CDprojectRed. The gaming media and so-called gamers were all to happy to join in Sony’s which hunt.

Cyberpunk played great on Series X. It was the game of the year. Funny how that truthful narrative was buried. If you think this is just tin foil hat conspiracy, ask yourself this simple question’would PlayStation have removed Cyberpunk from its store if it had the marketing?’ … those Cyberpunk E3’s were hype, PlayStation never forgave CDprojectRed for going with Xbox and Sony found a petty way to stick it to them.

The CDPROJECTRED- PlayStation bridge is burned.

Anyone else super stoked to see what kind of caves, dungeons we will find in Starfield? I’ve always loved the interior locations of BGS such as the caves and dungeons in Skyrim that are way more unique and variable than Oblivion was and I enjoyed the interiors in Fallout games too. Starfield likely will have some very cool indoor locations with all kinds of creepy creatures, environmental storytelling and secrets.

That’s the kind of stuff I can’t wait to discover.

so Jez said that MS ditched the 12 months policy based on some games he’ve heard for the showcase. this is my opinion but i think they are just expanding the policy until the end of next year.

12 month policy should be reserved for smaller shows imo. I think if Microsoft ever does state of play/ nintendo direct type of events. Then 12 month statement would be cool

I think there’s always going to be a natural emphasis on showing things that are closer to release, UT they just won’t have a requirement on it. If something else is in a place where they can have something to show then they’ll do it.

Good!

And you could be right. That way they can show Hellblade 2, which I can see being a early or mid 2024 game, with Avowed in the summer or later.

Now I’m just hoping it won’t be a Game Pass only show either, that way they can have some really nice third party reveals too. If the game is great I will buy it, maybe something like AC Mirage or better yet Alan Wake 2.

I want to know of every game they have in development, ALL OF THEM!!!

I don’t ever see the 12 month format coming back for a main line showcase nor should it. It was an experiment that didn’t work. Last year’s showcase was Microsoft’s worse for me in a decade by far.

This I can see happening. Developer Direct is perfect for the 12 month format. Like in January, they showed Redfall, Starfield, Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport and shadow dropped Hi Fi Rush. So unless Forza gets delayed to 2024, this is perfect.

Same here. I want to see Microsoft go get marketing deals at the very least for AAA third party multi-platform games. I don’t care that they’re multi-platform. I care that your showcase is well, showcasing more games that I want to play. Plus, having marketing deals for big AAA titles help build your brand, platform and eco-system which in turn, will grow Game Pass because people will check it out.

This will be the E3 of Dreams!

No 12 month is great. Means they can announce some far in the future Mega IP to build hype. Fallout 5 would build that hype instantly.
