Is it open now, because I want to tell them every day for now until they ban me from submitting things that the use of XBOX for everything is fucking stupid.

Like Jesse said while playing Halo Reach (which is so freaking awesome by the way!!), Microsoft doing this is so they can get all these people posting in one place instead of being bombarded with emails and DM’s.

Yep that Xbox Wire article made my eyes hurt with XBOX all throughout it - it’s a fucking name, capitalise the first letter only unless it’s advertising or a logo.

My autistic brain fucking hates things not looking correct, it’s actually painful reading it, like a child’s press release.

Jeez it may be the absolutely shit UK customer support (sorry, I mean non-existent) that’s soured me recently plus overpaying for Game Pass (I paid top whack to stack, no refund despite me buying a product that had CoD in, now doesn’t) but while I’m up for seeing if the new leadership can do new and interesting stuff it feels more like they’re pandering to a loud-mouthed US base with baubles to distract simpletons while irritating everyone else.

Maybe once I’m less pissed about that fucking support chatbot and overpaying for GP I’ll be able to tolerate the stupid XBOX thing grr

Curious about how this will go over. Umm, immediately looking the top requests are all things I’m 100% sure Xbox sees and knows about. This already exists with the weekly feedback thread on the insiders subreddit except that has a system in place where you don’t see up votes (so there’s less of a chance of crowd think) and the comments are randomized in order so there’s a chance that people can see every suggestion and up vote different ones. Here it’s just instantly what you expect to see littering the front page. Again a lot of these are constant posts on the feedback thread. They know about all this stuff and how vocal it all is.

Yeah my conspiracy paranoia brain is going off here. There’s something fishy about this. I think it’s either going to backfire for microsoft when they can’t do the requests they get or not at all benefit us when they use it as a way to accomplish requests based on crowd thing that garner attention but don’t substantially change anything. But if they don’t tackle that full list in a way that pleases everyone then you know people are just going to get angry again complaining about Microsoft not listening. This feels like them falling into worse trappings of the same issue with Phil where they just talked too much. If you can’t do backwards compatibility anymore due to licensing (or it’s really difficult) then don’t open a feedback hub where you know that’s going to be a top complaint from gamers.

I will say it’s completely unsurprising to see exclusives at the top in all caps, but boy is it embarrassing and does it say a lot about gamers to me. I say that because this is a feedback hub focused on improving the platform experience. We all go back and forth on exclusives, but at the end of the day those back and forths are based around us thinking we know what’s best for the health of the Xbox business and competition. What about that is fan feedback? How does it improve my experience as a gamer for a game to be less accessible to other gamers? Uh, not at all. Indirectly we could say that EVENTUALLY if Xbox grows it’ll pay off with more third party support and more investment in the ecosystem… but they’re already doing that. Xbox currently has more third party support than it ever has and the ecosystem continues to grow and get invested in. There’s nothing that’s worse about gaming on Xbox today than it was 3 years ago specifically because Xbox has decided to port some games to PS.

Furrowing my eyebrow over all this nonsense. Gamers are the literal only community actively against platforms opening up and software being more successful. Actually speaking of, what’s most interesting to me are the numbers here. As of now these are just thousands of people. With the internet’s fixation on numbers, I certainly hope those up votes for exclusives excerpt the “mere” hundreds of thousands of PS sales that meant those games flopped. Depending on how this is acted upon Xbox is really saying they’ll like the actual vocal minoroty determine the platform for tens of millions and how they try to reach hundreds of millions. Also the vocal minority is scary. Guys how are we prioritizing exclusives over backwards compatibility, lower pricing, or any actual improvement to the ecosystem?

This is just like the worst of voting. I’m concerned Xbox is going to fall into some group think trappings or worse that this will just keep adding fuel to the fire. Xbox going back to exclusives won’t single-handedly revive the stagnant console market and we already know how precarious it’ll make first party output looking at Sony. People are giving feedback about something that isn’t actively harming them because we’re all experts on marketing and sales I guess and pearl clutching is the best the human race can do. Dear lord.

I guess what’ll happen will happen. This feedback hub is already disappointing me in how… not creative people are. I mean, I guess I should expect that, but it really is just like a Twitter thread or YouTube comments post. What is great about the feedback thread on the subreddit is people making fully fleshed out and interesting ideas and presenting both problems and solutions to those problems. This is just the same shouting as on Twitter. Even the good ideas get drown out and shoved onto the next pages that people don’t often go to (otherwise Google would’ve put all those ads on the first results page). If this was at least randomized and up votes hidden that’d be something. But if it’s going to be like this then just make a full forum. Yippee. They made an internal Twitter.

That’s kinda yikes in of itself. The old, “We’re listening. Now please come to this platform where we can simultaneously listen and ignore you while looking like we’re doing a good job.” a lot of the things on the top page are known and have been worked on or had to be halted for various reasons. I’m also not sure how people expect Xbox to bar millions or even hundreds of thousands from buying their games on other platforms (there’s a lot saying to get first party off Steam even) based on thousands. Maybe those up votes will reach over a million in a year?

Yeah, I agree.

I liked Phil and when he talked and whatnot to the community, it was different because I believe that he was really trying to get Xbox fans back to Xbox. Now, it just seems like Asha and the team are trying to do the same but unlike Phil who was already there for decades, the vibe isn’t the same.

If anything, Asha and everyone else should just stay quiet. Be more like Sony and Nintendo in this regard. Barely say a word and just do what you’re going to do.

They are listening, though. It’s just about getting things into one place instead of being every comment, every dm, every single thing people constantly yell at you. You can point them to a place they’ll actually be seen.

Yeah, but this is all the same stuff being seen. It’s in one place, but people don’t like the windows feedback hub for the same reason of feeling like their concerns aren’t being heard because their requests aren’t immediately implemented. I think it’s fine for them to act on it at their own pace, but making this system people are going to expect action sooner than later.

Some time ago on the Xbox insiders sudreddit the insiders team did a Q&A and explained that yes they are listening to all feedback, but no they can reasonably act on everything just because some thousands of people requested it online for a number of reasons. Like getting rid of ads on Xbox is an often requested one, but they talked about how that involves contracts with partners and lots of money exchanging hands. It’s not a decision they can make on a whim.

I’m assuming that’s the same with all of this stuff. Exclusives we all know is a complicated issue. Backwards compatibility is dependent on licensing issues. I just think people will get really frustrated when they see that the new place for Xbox requests isn’t leading to the top things being upvoted immediately happening.

Actually I take it back. Had to check it out for myself. The system itself is nicely detailed and I’m surprised there’s even a category for the ROG Xbox Ally. It’s also just a forum in the same website alongside literally every other Microsoft product feedback forums. So yeah…

I’m mostly just disappointed how immediately it turned into the same old same old. It’s a nicely detailed system. Again maybe if they didn’t use the up vote system and sorted it randomly to try and limit bias and hype trains? I guess it was inevitable, but still disappointed people aren’t being more creative and taking it more seriously (and those that are are drowned out by EXCLUSIVES and asking for the same things they’ve already responded to.

I do think people are going to misread what Xbox did and get frustrated. Like guys… Skype is still an option as a forum. I don’t think feedback is going to make Microsoft decide to revive Skype.

Xbox will change the displayed Play Time for any individual title to total hours instead of days.

This suggestion by the Xbox community was made popular just three days ago via Xbox Player Voice.https://t.co/Qkf9ypdm2Q pic.twitter.com/zRT1CGmR4h
