Xbox is Now Publishing Hideo Kojima's Physint

Xbox should just show OD at TGA with a date, even if it’s 2028, then after the announcement, follow up with this, both with “Xbox exclusive” and with Kojima showing up, that’d be one of the most talked things from whats by far the biggest gaming show, one that even trascends gaming actually.

Sony could just counter by showing a new trailer for Fairgame$. Check and mate.

My guess is less than stellar sales on Death Stranding 2 and likely increasing costs on Kojima games combined to make this appear less viable as a Playstation exclusive. The question is - is Xbox planning on making this exclusive as a platform push, or are they just better positioned to take advantage of releasing it as a multiplat. Either way, going from Playstation exclusive to launching on xbox and likely game pass is a win.

It’ll be multi-platform, I reckon, unless it’s something that easily speaks to the casual gamer in a way that Death Stranding doesn’t.

Maybe I’m just being cynical but I feel like this doesn’t happen this way under the previous leadership, probably takes a few days or weeks or never happens. Asha certainly seems to be more in touch for some reason even though she has far less connection to the brand and fanbase, good, I’m looking forward to this, also bring DS2 to Xbox, gotta finish DS1 first though.

There’s a verified video game journalist saying he will never play the game now in the first page.

That place is a disgrace when it comes to anything Xbox. You got this and now they’re having a complete meltdown over the Xbox exclusive COD weapon skin.

Between Sony canceling physical disc’s, Xbox creating good will with its disc-to-digital program and now this Kojima news I sense some sort of shift starting to take place.

Bungie is not remotely in the conversation. The only fumble was spending as much as they did to buy them in the first place. That studio fumbled itself and it’s been really sad to see. I feel a little sorry for Sony (or at least Sony’s other studios) cuz they even let Bungie be a voice on other live service game projects.

I think it would still happen, as they would definitely release it on PS too.

They would make sure to let PlayStation fans know “Don’t worry PS fans, we love you, we’ll make sure the best version is on PS6” some exec a PlayStation shirt on.

I personally despise the cult of personality that surrounds Kojima and have also grown to dislike the man, as he seems to enjoy feeding into it. That said, I can’t help but love the schadenfreude around this. It’s great to see 30-somthing-year-olds cry and rage like fucking teenagers because deep down inside they’re still the same teenagers from the 2000’s who never matured.

I just think it’s funny as shit to see opinions turn on a dime. The same people who think Metal Gear and Death Stranding were masterpieces and Kojima is a generational talent are now desperately trying to convince themselves that he’s overrated and Overdose and PHYSINT will probably be bad games.
