Like trying to cover for AI really makes it clear, they’re replacing everyone with it.
Numbers seem to be all over the place, but Asga did say 3200 so that’s likely the number of people being replaced ny AI.
I am quite glad none of them are being closed. In all this bad news this is the good news.

Surprised the news came from themselves. I know Tom broke the news in a sense, but then they just publicly announce it. It’s like your job is not needed. But yeah, surprised to hear it and weirdly, it does “ease” the tension down. At least based on the replies which I’m surprised to see.

Defintely, going independent or being sold(like who offered though?), is a better result for the studios.

1600 Xbox employees laid off today.
Another 1600 for the rest of the fiscal year including the roughly 500 in the studio divestments.
No announced games cancelled, no studios outright closed.
Arkane Lyon’s future up in the air as Xbox and the French government figure it out.
Really shitty day.

Xbox has today kicked off a round of wide-ranging layoffs across the organisation, with five studios facing a new future.
Think the implication is that french labor laws leave the staff at Arkane a lot better protected and if they want to do anything with the studio it is going to be a longer process
So…no studio closures? Bruh, like sure their is still tons of lay offs but I think Microsoft handled it in the healthiest way possible
