They already did. It’s called the PlayStation Plus Collection. LOL.
I’d be more surprised if the PS5 doesn’t boot faster than the X honestly. But yeah. It feels like a lot of people compare cold boot to resume. You are doing the work though thanks!
100% Agree!
Huge difference from my Slim!
So compared with the PS4 Pro, for example, it’s not a huge difference.
With Series X, however, and Quick Resume (that works even when you turn off the console), we could be looking at around 28 seconds (20 from the cold boot, around 8 seconds of Quick Resume) and you’re in game, ready to go. Which is pretty freaking good, and no way achievable in current gen, because consoles right now aren’t saving the game state in the SSD, so you lose it if you turn it off.
Series X will also have a stand-by mode, which will be even faster.
Oh there is? I didn’t know, but I’m also not surprised at all. Good thing I just hang around here and that’s about it. No negativity, no nonsense.
Oh damn. The Pro boots up that fast? Guess that’s the one thing it has over the One X then.
But yeah, quick resume is gonna make amazing differences. You’d think by now we would know if PS5 has the same things…but nope.
Remember the weeks after they delayed Infinite? Ahaha, there was quite some negativity, actually.
And look where we are now! Amazing momentum for Xbox ![]()
Ah yes, but that kind of negativtiy I can understand. But the amazing news about Bethesda and now the previews have turned that ship around drastically. Xbox made such a huge move, it’s just showing they aren’t playing around.
I wonder what we will see next? Everyone mentioned continuing coverage.
Yeah, I used the stop watch on my cell phone. It’s definitely faster and more responsive than the PS4 base and PS4 slim models. It would be sad if it wasn’t. lol.
Looking forward to testing out and seeing how Quick Resume works and whatnot. Sony hasn’t detailed a lot of stuff while Microsoft hasn’t shown gameplay running off Series X. It’s weird considering we’re 6 weeks away!!!
I stand corrected. Glad to be proven wrong. Score one for Sony. Like I said I fully expect PS5 to load faster than The Xboxes.
Considering their expensive as hell SSD, PS5 should load faster but the question will be - how much faster? If it’s a few seconds, that’s going to be hilarious.
Plus they have to show 1st how BC works and loading times on BC…
True. Remains to be seen if Sony details any of this stuff. It would be very funny to play a PS4 game on PS5 and there’s no decrease in load times. lol.
I want to see what improvements PS5 bring to the table in BC area compared to XSX.
I’m sure Sony will try to focus on loading times on Ratchet & Clank and Demon’s Souls.
True. Luckily for me, BC on PS5 doesn’t mean anything to me since I played everything that I wanted to play and the few games I didn’t (The Outer Worlds and Wasteland 3) are in Xbox Game Pass and we already know the massive improvements that The Outer Worlds gets without any optimization.
Probably. That would be the smart thing for them to do.
There was literally nothing negative that was said about Series X during the testing, this might be a first in history for Xbox.
Sure but we just don’t know what it’ll be. I am content to wait until we have confirmed information.
Agreed. I just think that would be hilarious if it does in fact turn out to be only a few seconds faster. At this point, like you said, we just have to wait and see.
Almost true, Ryan McCaffrey with IGN whined about the powering on noise being the same,
.
Sony after seeing XSX BC Wizardry
“Hey Sony where’s the PS5? Show yourself!”
