Yeah true on that. But I recall he’s been right a lot too, or am I thinking of a different Nate? NateDrake? Lol, all these “insiders” and their super original names.
Yeah I had to listen to it again to confirm. Nowhere does he say “Sony locked it down” “Sony wants it exclusive”. He says “I think it’s PS5 exclusive and unless Sony has some kind of deal (which suggests he thinks it’s unpaid exclusive) then perhaps Microsoft is trying to get it on their platform day 1”.
It’s truly sad Xbox has to offer money to get that game on their platform. It shouldn’t be necessary, should be a given that these titles come to Xbox too. Aren’t the Persona games doing quite well on Game Pass? I guess it’s a bit hard to see if it’s a real success compared to how actual software sales would be.
It would be shocking to me if MS isn’t doing that after finally having the franchise on their platform/service.
They lost too much market share so it become a slippery slope.
Big miss if true
To be fair, they just circulate rumors that all big 3rd party games especially Japanese ones are exclusive and then gloat about their record if correct. That’s my impression anyways.
Doubt
MS you mean?
Yeah, ah well, at least we’ll find out soon enough.
He did have Elden Ring gameplay trailer back then, that was big. But yeah, I don’t recall anything truly big last year.
Yeh ms is losing too much market share so the price becomes more expensive for them and cheaper for sony. Also the publisher wont be that worried about a platform with diminishing share.
“They ask multiple platforms about the games release & listen to offers!”
Hmm that’s what I understand from this. The other two reasons are just pr.
Geoff Keighley promotes his business. Shocking. lol
Some of you will believe anything it seems. ![]()
They also may be limited to titles already on Steam. Or maybe they have already finished a quick quality testing of those on the service. It is quite the variety.
Wow, a demo, and you dont even have to be subscribed to a premium service either!
Article doesn’t say that. It’s basically just a puff piece saying “they don’t set out to limit platforms”… “ want as many people as possible to be able to play” BUT “have a long relationship and get a lot of support from Sony.”
No indication as to why it’s actually exclusive. Though I would certainly say that Sony either being willing to pay to keep it that way, or Xbox being unwilling to pay to change it would be the most likely culprit.
In either case I’ve said it before (to mixed reception) but I’ll say it again: Xbox shouldn’t be in the business of paying third party producers to put their games on their platform. Exclusivity arrangements, indie titles, GamePass deals are way different than actively paying for a game from a large AAA publisher to appear at all. It sets a precedent they’d never escape from. If Square and other companies want to bet that PlayStation will always be the dominant platform in the markets they make money in good for them. But if Microsoft starts paying for Final Fantasy what’s to stop Ubisoft from demanding money for the next Assassins Creed game?
yo the only time geoff hyped actually meant anything was that elden ring trailer. I sleep through his events. It should be called the cure insomnia gaming show
Well at least the time length is condensed.
Summer games fest = ad ridden snooze fest.
