Man, that’s ridiculous. Truly, MS is better off just banning them completely. No review copies of ANY game anymore for them. IGN is nothing compared to PCG.
The negativity indeed is depressing and it’s getting incredibly old. It’s been a long time I’ve seen this much negativity, even several months after release for a game. Tiresome as fuck.
I believe Phil said that a lot had changed and not to take all of this for granted so changes could have happened. Maybe they adjusted plans and are launching earlier.
I just wonder what the ARM64 decision means. Is it that they’ll be deciding whether to go ARM64 or stick to the current platform, or does it mean they’ll be deciding on what ARM64 solution to go with?
A move to ARM makes sense to me as it makes it possible to port their games all the way down to cellphones, and all the way up to console/PC although they’d still need to make it work on X86/X64 platforms so they’d need a very good development environment for that, but everything’s possible. Also, better control on hardware might translate to lower price or higher profit margins, which is what MS is after with the Xbox division.
Its not worth getting depressed about, PCgamer has been irrelevant since they stopped having an actual magazine with demo discs; their negativity provides the only pathetic engagement they can get, eventually that will dry up as well.
I don’t mean that to be exact. Lets say for example if you search on google “how to ear credits in Starfield quickly” Their website will be in top 5 results . So, when you search for useful stuff to guide you through the game. You’ll usually see PCgamer show up in the results and of course you’ll see IGN. It’s just funny for PCgamer for example to hate the game so much that they’re making detailed guides for it because they know it generates revenue due to clicks.
I don’t have one either but Jez gave a sneak peak and stated that Gene said that Xbox future is better than PS. That alone is going to trigger the whole media.
Press has to damage control bad news for them as usual. “Forget that a game in dev for a while just got canceled and you probably wont see anything new from that studio for a while, lets praise this free DLC instead”; as you said games getting free substantial DLC isn’t really new for other companies but apparently they don’t count.
Actually it’s the opposite in the comfort view where there is some variance in the camera movement with the car direction, pitch, and roll. On this feature, too, you can adjust it to be more tight or loose.
Jez made a good point and it’s ironic when you think about it. Sony should try to take the risk in live service by sticking to it. SoT is a great example since critic was really underwhelmed at launch and yet, look where they’re at right now. Sony can’t handle the pain at start and by that, I mean possible low rated (low 70 or 60). Look at Destruction All-Stars. Dead after a few month. Sony needs to be a risk taker.
Rand is going at it on fans taking it super easy on the cancellation of the game yet Scalebound gets cancelled and Xbox is cancer. Never heard him swearing so much till today.
He’s right though. Despite not caring about live service games, one would have to think, what else Sony can do to get revenue if their live service strategy fails. Xbox is covered, especially now with ABK. They’re set for life, so long things remain the same and then some.
I saw this earlier today which means this game might be getting ported from Switch soon. I don’t see why it would skip Xbox as well. Already played on Switch myself though.
Don’t see why anyone on the PlayStation side would get triggered from this due to the fact that Microsoft has double the studios and triple the teams so if anything, shouldn’t this just be a given?
Will listen to the podcast tomorrow after work but yeah, I agree. I like Darth Rand. lol
I believe that Sony’s greatest enemy is their fan base and how they’ve built them to be used to certain things and whatnot to where Sony will just implode from within.
