They fired people who worked for them for more than 10 years in important positions. So Microsoft was stupid for more than 10 years and suddenly got unstupid?
Imagine what they could have done had he not burned all the good will and waste of time over the past few years. They’ve gone back on nearly every single aspect he’s done or put in place.
I’m guessing you’ve never worked for any large-ish sort of company? You can be in an “important position” for 20 years, and that’ll be worth exactly diddly squat if that position stops being important. Or you start slacking off. Or you don’t have updated qualifications. Etc.
Companies exist to make money (literally.) It’s not their job to reward loyal employees by paying them forever.
If I was the cynical type, I’d say that most “loyal employees” are actually morons, doing more work for less money. (Yeah, welcome to reality. Some of us have been here long enough to know how it works. Unless you get extremely lucky or have the right connections, you’re nothing but an expendable cog in the machine, existing only to make the rich even richer.)
From what I hear, Microsoft is actually one of the best companies you can hope to work for - or be let go by. Most companies will literally just chew you up and spit you out.
PS: Did you know that Microsoft increased it’s workforce by 3% last year? But that probably doesn’t count, because we can’t complain about it on the internet.
Lol I don’t watch all of his videos but the ones I’ve watched I found to be entertaining, I immediately hit the “don’t recommend” button when I saw that, disappointed in Youtube because a few days ago I started doing that on all Doom recommended videos to avoid spoilers and yet this still happened.
Switch 2 apparently requires a “significant day one patch” to be functional. Looking forward to the people screaming about Xbox consoles requiring online activation keeping that same energy for Nintendo.
