Wild Hearts is fantastic
2023 is the year of Koei. All straight Wâs from the looks of things.
The little I saw looked much more interesting than MH, for me.
I really enjoyed MH: Rise, but this is more fun/adult. It might not be the technical masterpiece but the ideas here are ridiculous and stupidly fun to use in combat.
Yeah it looked like it was very fun combat, Iâll be sure to catch more of your streams.
I havenât been able to get on twitch to watch for months now, did enjoy the last one I saw but just never seems to work out.
and there are plenty of games with options. go play them. all the games in the world leave souldbourne games alone
LOL.
If you canât handle the game you like having a difficultly setting or accessibility options I reckon you need to have a long think about why you think that, and why it matters.
Because, if a game has a super high difficulty setting or a super low difficulty setting, no one cares which one you play, and only you should.

An Open Letter to Microsoft CEO: Fire Phil Spencer Now!
Dear Satya Nadella,
I am writing this letter as a concerned and disappointed Xbox fan who has been loyal to your brand since the original Xbox. I have witnessed the rise and fall of Xbox over the years, and I have to say that the current state of Xbox is unacceptable and embarrassing.
You have entrusted Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, with the responsibility of leading Xbox into the next generation of gaming. However, under his leadership, Xbox has failed to deliver on its promises, innovate, or compete with its main rival, PlayStation.
Let me list some of the reasons why Phil Spencer should be fired immediately:
- He has failed to secure enough exclusive games for Xbox, especially compared to PlayStation, which has a rich and diverse portfolio of exclusives that appeal to a global audience. Xbox has relied too much on old franchises like Halo, Gears of War, and Forza, which have lost their appeal and relevance over time. Meanwhile, PlayStation has created new and exciting IPs like Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spider-Man, which have won critical acclaim and commercial success.
- He has failed to improve the quality and performance of Xbox games, especially compared to PlayStation, which has consistently delivered games that run smoothly and look stunning on its hardware. Xbox games have suffered from bugs, glitches, delays, and cancellations, which have tarnished the reputation of Xbox and frustrated its fans. For example, Halo Infinite, the flagship title of Xbox Series X, was delayed by a year due to poor development and negative feedback, and still looks mediocre and outdated compared to PlayStation games.
- He has failed to capitalize on the potential of Xbox Game Pass, the subscription service that offers access to hundreds of games for a monthly fee. While Game Pass is a great value proposition for gamers, it has not translated into significant revenue or market share for Xbox, especially compared to PlayStation, which has a loyal and engaged fanbase that is willing to pay full price for its games. Game Pass has also devalued the perception of Xbox games, as they are seen as cheap and disposable, rather than premium and desirable.
- He has failed to expand the reach and appeal of Xbox to new and diverse audiences, especially compared to PlayStation, which has a strong presence and popularity in key markets like Japan, Europe, and Latin America. Xbox has struggled to break into these markets, due to its lack of localised content, cultural relevance, and customer service. Xbox has also failed to attract casual and mobile gamers, who are the fastest-growing segments of the gaming industry, due to its lack of innovation and accessibility.
These are just some of the examples of how Phil Spencer has let down Xbox and its fans, and how he has allowed PlayStation to dominate the console market. As the CEO of Microsoft, you have the power and the duty to make a change and save Xbox from further decline. You need to fire Phil Spencer and replace him with someone who has the vision, the passion, and the competence to lead Xbox into the future.
Xbox deserves better. Xbox fans deserve better. And you deserve better.
Sincerely,
A concerned and disappointed Xbox fan
What I mean is a lot of Souls difficulty comes from not knowing whatâs ahead of you, whether itâs some big ass trap hitting you out of nowhere or a some black knight hiding behind a corner
Those things will likely kill you on first encounters because they take you by surprise but once you know whatâs ahead a large amount of that challenge is now removed
Thatâs not really the case with something like Ninja Gaiden imo, maybe trail and error is the wrong phrase but hopefully you get what I mean
Halo, TLOU and Souls
The holy trinity of terrible fanbases
The first time you encounter IS ninjas in NGB they just drop out of nowhere and almost 100% kill you in 5 seconds, just like Alma will also kill you in 10 seconds the first time you will fight her in the church. Also Black Knights are never hiding around the corner, they are almost always out of the main progression path, chilling in certain spots and looking intimidating AF.
As I said in every challenging game/higher difficulty mode trial and error comes with the territory, same with Souls games.
Souls games (at least the ones made by FROM ) arenât as crazy hard as theyâre made out to be. They just ask that the player learn the game. Theyâre challenging sure but if you know the systems (and most times how to get around them) these games arenât as that tough. The aforementioned Ninja Gaiden games were way harder.
I am far from an elite souls guy, but by my second playthrough of Elden Ring, my character was a nigh immortal energy vampire that gains back life everytime he hits an enemy. All I did was look at some YouTube vids in search of the most broken character builds I could use.
Only game you canât exploit in that way is Sekiro but that isnât a âsoulsbourneâ type game.
All games certainly have trail and error, youâre right but Souls does this shit far more than NG does imo
But I guess the easier way of putting it is take away the element of surprise in both games and Souls is much easier to complete than say Ninja Gaiden 2 on Master Ninja
Not to mention you can just grind your ass off in Souls to get crazy health or other stats making it far easier
Impressive
Steel Rising did âsoulsâ games the right way. You can play it like a normal souls games or turn on the accessibility options that allow you to adjust four options including stamina, keeping your souls when dying, etc. I kept three out of the four options as is. Only one I changed was where I could the Anima Essence (souls) when dying because fuck that, im not putting hours into a game and then lose my shit that I gained in those hours. Steel Rising will be the only souls franchise I ever play and complete. Hoping for Spiders to make a sequel after GreedFall 2.
Looks like I shouldnât have asked for an easy mode. My apologies.
Iâll be honest though, work and chores are a lot and when I want to experience a world when I get time, I donât want to be frustrated to hell. I know I should stay in my lane but it was just wishing out loud.
Iâll stick to the Borderlands and Assassinsâ Creeds
Things I hate in games #46: ESCORT MISSIONS.
Why? Just whyâŚ
Donât like them? Donât play them! Plenty of other games that donât have escort missions, you leave escort mission games alone! ![]()
No, feel free to express your opinion on what youâd like to see from games. I think people who really like souls games are just afraid that the itch those games scratch for them might be lessened or taken away to appeal to a broader audience. I personally hate souls games, so I hope they remain exactly as they are for the people who love them. However, I donât see how adding a lesser difficulty mode would really affect those that choose to play the game the way it was meant to be played, so it seems a bit silly, but to each their own.
