Let’s be honest, or rather, my personal opinion, but Twitter is the source for gaming news at a rapid speed, especially from him. We hear about the new announcement from not only in the west, but east as well. We get the reviews gathering, interviews, and other sources’ article like VGC and so on. Not to mention, we have folks like Wario64 to handle the sales, which helped me a lot in many occasions. Honestly, that’s why I still use Twitter. Other than that, it can rot in hell.

Oh I agree I’m not saying otherwise, I’m just saying people aren’t willing to pay for something like that. I know for myself I would never pay to get gaming news no matter who it’s from and if they want to charge for that or not that’s up to the person delivering the news. It’s the same thing for me I would never buy a newspaper/website subscription either because that does not interest me in the slightest.

I don’t think people are willing to pay for stuff like that and like @Vivir said if there was a personality around it then I think people would sign up but because it was just news and that is all there was no face/person to support.

I use Twitter purely for gaming news actually and pretty much nothing else, followed them and will miss seeing their stuff but I am sure someone else will fill the shoes and or I will see the same news sooner or later after it has come out.

Listening to the part about feedback from 1st party teams, it only just hit me with having all these 1st party studios that are very talented means they would be getting a load of good feedback on what to focus their next console efforts on. When they had 5 studios they wouldn’t have many studios that are in house to ask these sorts of questions and would’ve had to ask 3rd party devs which they still would do now but having all these teams in house they can start it much earlier without having to worry about stuff leaking out of 3rd party.

Also how did they manage to get a nearly 1 hour in person interview like that Oo

It requires resources. Considering that some journos - people who are getting paid - stated that it was easy for them to get Nibel’s tweets and make the news, probably journos will have to work more

We sometimes joke about Sony fanboys and their ways, but wow.

In the comment section of a funny video someone said Nintendo and Sony aren’t the best of friends, Sony betrayed Nintendo etc etc. And then someone goes “oh, so how come Sakurai has added Cloud and Joker, both Sony first party characters to Smash Bros then?”

So much respect for what Nibel did and you have to think about it they were keeping us up to date 24/7. They were doing a much better job aggregating news than every video game company twitter account like you would have IGN and others that are very late aggregating news, and he was doing it at a rapid pace. It’s like what others said it’s a thankless job and they were the best at it
