I am not one for acquisition talk but @Jez mentioned last year that Microsoft was in talks with a small indie studio. Just thought it might be an interesting question for you guys to ask him about? @Sikamikanico@Shpeshal_Nick@Doncabesa
Might help to deflect from any questions about who the next publisher acquisition will be!
Probably Fable, mainly because I’ve played the Gears games so may times. If they do a Gears collection, I hope 2 and 3 get the same treatment that the first game did with the Ultimate Edition.
Perhaps let the community questions be the setup device to drive topics for the show and not be asked directly. Or turn them into written answers posted online like an article to go along with it. * shrug *
Actually he went afk for a while and was talking plenty when he came back. I do agree though, community questions will have to be lowered significantly when guests are on and potentially removed if we have a very strict time limit. We were lucky that @Jez & @RandalThor19 were so generous with their time.
Just require the questions to be short and to the point? Removing them would be boring, some are really interesting to hear the answers to. It’s also a great perk for patrons.
It is not so much about the length of the podcast. I could easily listen to you guys for hours on end when you are discussing news and topics. The community questions though sucks all energy and enthusiasm out of show and you really notice it start to go down hill. It is just a conveyor belt of tiresome questions about food or ranking something in order.
I would rather you guys spent that time talking about what has recently come to Game Pass and what is leaving soon. Shredders gets a release date of March 17th, Two Point Campus releases in May, Rainbow Six Extraction reaches 3 million players, For Honor and Valkyria Chronicles 4 free to play up until Monday, Sea of Thieves closing down Arena, Hyper Scape to close servers, Kao the Kangaroo returning after 16 years, Elden Ring to take 30 hours to beat, Hellblade 2 concept art, Evil Dead delayed to May, Hogwarts Legacy & Gotham Knights on track for this year, Call of Duty to ditch Xbox One in 2023, and maybe even the lineup of Games with Gold.
It would have been interesting to hear you guys discussing the above rather than spending the majority of the time answering a conveyor belt of community questions.
I don’t disagree, and I do think a separate monthly questions only show could be good. Really pick and choose ones we have answers for so it’s interesting.
Well, there’s community questions, and then there’s super chats. Super chats break up the flow of discussion with the need to address questions and chats that people have paid for. I’ve noticed that not just with the podcast but with many other live podcasts that the number of super chats have increased tremendously. As a result they’ve also become pretty valuable as well.
Another option then is to do away with the live portion of the podcast, and make it recorded only? I’m not saying I have the answers, but let’s get suggestions from as many people as possible. Otherwise we’re going to get podcasts the length of the Iron Lords (six hours?!?!?)
Agree with super chats, if it is relevant to the conversation sure you could bring it up some how. Should save superchats for the end of the show or you cut that part out of the audio version. Community questions are fine but you’ll have to be better about picking and choosing what ones to read. Live shows can be just a questions and super chat show, doesn’t have to be structured like a normal podcast.
Personal preference but I think the show excels with the silly questions and tangets that go places.
I like the DF podcast model. Start with the topics of the week and then followed up by a few community questions.
Fable is more important to me than Gears and just like you I’ve played Gears enough in the past years. I haven’t played a Fable in a long time and those games are stuck in the 360 days tech wise.
