Cyberpunk 2077 |OT| It feels like it's taken 2077 years for this game to release (and might take another 2077 years for it to be fixed)

think hes referring to halo infinite. Finishing CP2077 in 5 hrs is insane lol

Easy is essentially ā€œgive me the storyā€ option. Enemies present zero challenge. However, if I’m being honest that would be a bit of a disservice to the game. Cyberpunk is very much Dues Ex like. As in you can have multiple ways to infiltrate enemy bases and hideouts with the hacking tool. So going easy mode and just guns blazing with no challenge would ruin the experience imo. I would tell him to do normal atleast and try that first

play in normal. That mode itself gets trivialized in the latter parts of the game due to some perks on guns like being able to shoot through walls, insane headshot multipliers, etc (maybe they’ve fixed that recently, idk).

I feel you 100% on that.

He definitely should do normal then. I think he’s too afraid for these RPG elements, but it really isn’t that complex. He did give up on Witcher 3, but not Valhalla. I don’t get that tbh, Witcher 3 demolishes Valhalla…and the RPG elements really weren’t too complex at all.

Can you change difficulty mid game? I don’t want things to be too easy, haha.

yeah you can change it mid game.

CP2077 is definitely more RPG lite than a hardcore RPG. Even CDPR themselves shifted their marketing to call it an action adventure closer to release for the same reason.

That’s great because if it does get too easy I’ll crank it up.

Now I’m gonna think about what class I’m going to choose.

I chose Nomad, but you can go with any really. There is no gameplay difference except certain dialogue options throughout the story and maybe some other things that I’m forgetting. One of the bigger criticisms of the game was pretty much exactly that, that the path you chose didn’t have THAT much of an impact throughout the game.

I chose Nomad because I felt coming to the city from outside was something interesting, a new perspective rather than the Corpo or Street Rat or whatever thats called who are already in Night City from the beginning. Also helped bond more with certain characters down the line that I grew to love. You might prefer starting in the city itself for all I know, so just go with what you feel like tbh

Yeah, Nomad is great. I played that today. Exactly what you said too, coming to the city from the desert like area was just really cool. That cop though, dude is asking for a bruising, lmao.

Yeah, Nomad is the best starting point for me as well. It might not amount to much in the grand scheme of things, but the little things it did were cool.

I’ve only clocked a few hours so far and already had waaaaay too many items in my inventory to wade through, so if there was even more loot lying around before this update, wheeeeeew. Too much.

And something seemed to be wrong with the equipment comparison when I was trying to figure out which weapon was best. I had a machine gun of some kind equipped in the third slot, and when comparing other weapons to it, it kept showing as a completely different damage value. I spent a good few minutes trying to figure out which machine gun had the highest damage, and whether I actually had it equipped, before I gave up and sold almost all my inventory to some random vendor.

That’s my main takeaway from the game so far. That, and the abysmal stab at futuristic dialogue. ā€˜Shit’s preeeeem, hombre.’ A Clockwork Orange this ain’t.

Cyberpunk took me 60 hrs to complete, more or less, doing almost all side stuff. Just one playthru btw; didn’t do other runs with different choices or anything.

CDPR’s localization game is on another level. Sheesh! I don’t usually play games with translated captions [Arabic] but they’re so good I have to. The translation itself is easily the best I’ve seen and that’s the case with Witcher 3 as well, and now with Cyberpunk they took to another level with the aesthetically fitting fonts, colors and correct display (right to left language) the only other game I remember that had that was Forza Motorsport 6 (ironic, I know).

Oh and in select languages, even the lip-sync is fitting using I think proprietary technology.

Some trillion dollar companies should learn :fire:

yea my playthrough took a long while as well cant remember how long specifically tho

The English voice acting could use some work, especially for the main playable character.

Bought it! It’s mawfucking go time baybah!

Started a new playthrough and played for hours last night

Best thing was I had this song come on the radio twice while driving. So I just drove around extra long before hitting my destination

I’m now checking out the database and reading everything they have there about the characters, world etc. Witcher 3 had this with the beastiary and I loved reading all that. Mass Effect games do this really well too.

Female V’s performance is phenomenal, literally the reason I chose female V tbh (before learning about Judy ofc which only helped decide :sob:).
