Right on! Well, as I wish for every game, I hope it does well (which I’m sure it will); the world is going to shit and developers suffering is the absolute last thing that needs to be added on top.
I can’t believe how much was shown compared to how little of it I’m actually interested in…
Admittedly, beyond Spider Man and The Getaway (years ago), I’ve never really gotten on with PlayStation first party - I enjoyed the gameplay of Tsushima but the lack of agency in the story infuriated me enough I’m not desperate to play the sequel and much preferred AC Shadows.
Think 007 is probably the main one, and we’ve seen that before - nothing for me anywhere near my level of excitement for FH6 and Fable, I’m counting the days till those…
I quite enjoyed that, would give it an 8/10. Kena, John Wick, and Tokon were my highlights, whilst it’s nice to see a new Dead or Alive in development.
They could have at least described what they’re aiming for with the GoW Trilogy Remake, though. Will it stick to the original style, or more in the vein of GoW 2018? Hoping for the latter myself. It was cool to see the OG VA is involved as well.
I was glad to see Dead or Alive is the latter, not the former. There were rumors awhile back that the series might be done.
Except MS is the only one doing it, which is why I think it’s a problem.
Talk with people in normal gaming spheres, like outside of forums (heck, even in forums sometimes) and you will see this tactic actually works. I’ve had that conversation so many times with people that come to me asking if I’ll buy a PS5 to play some of those games when I already know they’re coming to Xbox.
It has an overall impact on what people will buy unfortunately.
Yep it’s shady as fuck all to trick customers into thinking PS is the only option.
Pretty much what we expect from PlayStation - they are after all the lying bastards that came out with “we believe in generations” then did cross-generation games with the PS4 for even longer than Xbox did with the One, and the “super magic SSD” that anyone with a brain knew was bullshit (but was then confirmed when they backported those games to PS4 or suddenly didn’t need an SSD in the PC requirements)
Ideal article! Because I was wondering what games were coming to Xbox as well and here we are. Quite a good amount are, so that’s good.
I don’t think it’s a problem. They are pushing towards this direction, and it seems to be working for them. The biggest games that dominate consoles usually have their logos and usually will at some point be shown on Xbox stage besides I think it will in time come to be frowned at.
Does it really matter people are buying consoles for games like COD and Fortnite. To me it feels like a waste of time perpetrating a lie that will come to bite them hard.
Nope because Sony has to put ads on PlayStation 4s to incentivize people to move on to the PlayStation 5
I finally got a chance to watch it, and I’d probably rate it about the same, although the glaringly-obvious first-party problem shouldn’t be getting a pass anymore.
That said, there’s a lot that was shown from series I love, and knowing we’re getting new entries is a nice bonus. Furthermore, all of it will be available on Xbox or PC, so I have plenty to look forward to.
I must say, this State of Play was really good. The best in a long time. Dead or Alive coming back, John Wick reveal, Kena 2, which no one would have guessed, Rayman, Control Resonant gameplay and Metal Gear Solid 4! It’s kind of wild they dropped all of these bombshells on a random thursday.
No really, has anyone played the shadow drop GoW?
I’m playing it now for a review. It’s been fine so far, bit basic in its combat, and the voice acting isn’t good. Curious how/if it evolves.
Are you going to review the new Blazblue? I heard it’s pretty good. Nice to have it for GPU.
Nah, missed embargo and there’s too much other stuff coming up
Didn’t realize that new JRPG is by Konami , lame it’s not for Xbox though.
Same with Death Stranding 2, it was probably too good to be true that it already would be coming to Xbox.
Don’t know about the new title. It’s probably going to release more platform name down the road. Only for PS in this timeline is only asking for DOA. It’s not PS2 Era anymore.
I’m going to be real, I didn’t enjoy that SoP at all. I got a PS5 Pro recently, but it has become a 3rd-party machine for me, with only Wolverine as a 1st-party game I am interested in this year. I am not really into remakes/remasters/horror games/fighting games or the Konami IP show. I would say I have a pretty broad taste in games, from AAA action-adventure, SRPGs, JRPGs, WRPGs, Simulation games, Platformers, Metroidvanias, and loads more. I am surprised the show didn’t show me anything new to get excited for (Already excited for 007 First Light, Pragmata, and Beast of Reicarnation)
I feel you. I do wonder what motivated you to get a pro though a PC would have been a better choice considering there’s over a million games there.
