Date is set, now we wait for the reveal.

I’m so curious about this one. They spent so much time working on 6 compared to the others. I’ll continue to be a broken record and say I hope progression feels more meaningful (FH1 for example).

Nice, this could mean we get Fable before holidays. If MS is smart, they do that.

It always depends on when the game is ‘ready’. If that’s before then great, if during then so be it.

I just hope Xbox doesn’t fall into back to back major AAA fall releases… again. Like I’d feel better about May FH6, July Gears, September Halo, October COD, December Fable, than I would if 2 or 3 of those are shoved into November or October or release within 4 weeks of each other. I’m sure they don’t intend it, but I wouldn’t mind them holding on to games like they did Avowed if need be. That’d at least populate earlier in the year more (February feels like an underrated month to release games in). Otherwise it just gets too crowded in October/November. That can’t be good for the GP model either. Like “I might as well just only sub in the last few months of the year.” and then “Oh, I can’t finish all these games at once, so I might as well downgrade and play games later.”

Oh absolutely. With PG’s tweet last week it sounded like they have a lot to show and of course it’s impossible to really tell, but it sounded to me that it’s going really well, development. What I mostly meant is that hopefully MS doesn’t make the mistake they did with Rise of the Tomb Raider, I recall they released that alongside a huge third party game, and that wasn’t exactly the wisest decision.

If they are confident in a release window before November then I can see them announcing it, past that there’s the danger of GTA VI and I bet they’ll wait and see if it gets delayed again. Hopefully none of that and we get to finally enjoy both this year.

Agreed. I don’t want 200 cars right after I finish the tutorial. Let me work my way up.

Facts, progression needs a real change up. Let’s hope that has happened, but I’m afraid it won’t.

They have difficulty options for the driving, why not let us choose something for progression too? Something like that maybe, if they need to keep it tiktok-y for the kids.

Good point!

I hope it so much too man, FH1 is too long ago for me to remember, but did that have a better progression system? It’s quite sad how fast I got well…tired of FH5. Plenty of (special)races I haven’t done, I just wasn’t feeling it anymore. It’s possible that this was FH/Racing game fatique for me too, and the time between a new FH has been quite long.

Still. I hope it’s not just more of the same. Hopefully they got some stuff that truly shakes up shit, so to speak.

FH4 was my first, so I’ve gone back to play from the beginning the last couple of years. Did FH2 last year and FH1 the year before that. The progression is much better, especially in the first one where it feels like you need to fight a bit to move up in classes etc.

FH5 is my least favourite so far (I haven’t played 3 yet), and I haven’t played it in a long time.

I played 1 and 2 last year as well. In one, you had really work for it in a lot of races. Get to know the course, try different cars that met the races qualifications. You would quickly identify the turn that would make or break the race for you and you had to hit it perfect. It was really gratifying to finally achieve 1st place in a lot of races. In 2, it was very common for me to get 1st place on my first try. Felt like going through the motions. I’m halfway through 3 and pretty much same as 2. Will focus on finishing 3 before 6 comes out so I can play that with everyone else. then 4 and 5 down the road.

Oh damn. I forgot about that.

Hopefully PG took the critique to heart from the fans that want a challenge and that they can find a good middle ground, a good balance to satisfy both type of fans.

This has been the longest that we’ve been without a FH game, I think? You’d think it’s not just FH5 with better visuals set in Japan and everything else is the same. Hopefully one of the “new” things is better/more satisfying progression .

Next week we’ll know, and that goes for Fable too. Watch the 2024 trailer again and man oh man, the visuals… especially that town.

Yeah, I’m expecting a lot of new/reworked things this time. Will be very disappointing if it’s just more of the same.

That’s what I was I expecting, placing the PS5 release right before the holidays.

I hope all the extra time between releases results in a bit of a shake up in the formula. They’re great games, but I burned myself out FH2 and FH3. I bounced off 4 and 5 in a relatively short amount of time.

That’s an amazing release date for FH6.

So, I have to admit that the FH1 talk about how great it’s progression is makes zero sense to me.

Because what I remember of when I played it, was being pretty linear and the races weren’t anything that I felt were that special. As the map wasn’t really all that interesting to me.

But I’m the type of person that loses interest in driving games after like 10 hours, with the next 10 to 20 just spent driving around the world.

Yeah, I’ve been playing FH1 recently and would say the only difference to progression is that it gives you events pretty much one at a time. Other than that, and the game not throwing cars at you via wheelspins at every opportunity, it largely feels similar.

That and the cringe dialogues were the worst parts of FH5, would love a bit more serious take on this FH6, tho i understand casuals prefer it this way, and the game is a superseller, so if it works, why change it i guess?

Interesting date for me, like March we’re getting Crimson Desert and Slay the Spire 2 (goty), then April’s empty, and then May with FH6 and 007, luckily there’s like 1-2 week gap between the games, but yea second half of May looks fun
