PlayStation 5 |OT| This SSD has no limits

Basically a half decade behind give or take. I agree with this.

Especially since Sony is not involved in the port of Freedom Wars. Dimps acquired the license from Sony to remaster the game. They then had Bandai Namco publish the game. Sony never considered remastering Freedom Wars. It was Dimps who wanted to do it for the 10th anniversary and I think it was probably them who didn’t want to port it to Xbox. Tsukamoto talks about it in his interview.

Sony does own the IP though so I understand why it’s not releasing on Xbox. It is what it is.

to be fair to release a major AAA title on Microsoft or Nintendo platforms Sony has to release a new one first.

Hahaha. True.

Not on about biased just expected more professionalism considering DF likes to make out how much better they than compared to other outfits only for them to resort to name calling whilst not factoring in how much more FORZA is handling under the hood on a base console.

If you overlook RayTracing FORZA engine need can handle dynamic weather for every track and also a dynamic time of day for every track unlike GT 7 which DF didn’t comment on.

Also, Alex’s endless laughing is both offputting and very annoying

I mean John from DF literally said he wished Xbox had never entered the console space on Neogaf/Era. You cannot live that one down.

What we have seen this gen is the unmasking bias of the gaming media, Sony has had a rough gen to say the least and quite often those issues are brushed aside just to spit out another Starfield hit piece at places like PC Gamer and other outlets.

Japan is really reacting negative on the price hike. It sold only around 10,000, an ironically decrease from at least 30,000 per week. Switch 2 getting announced will beat them down further.

Hopefully it’ll make them rethink their regional pricing - the UK prices for their stuff sucks, even the digital PS5 is almost $520 when converted.

If they weren’t taking the piss so much with the Pro or even base PS5 pricing I’d have considered jumping in given I’m used to having both - but as I’ve mentioned above I’m now seriously considering a PC upgrade (although would like to know more about the next Xbox PC stores thing as might hold off if so!)

Keighley is reporting only 12,300 of the Pro versions of this, so imagine the stock is going to be pretty low of all these and cost a fortune (also no disc drive still!):

For the PS5 digital, the difference after VAT is $480 (US) vs $518 (UK.) Considering varying logistics costs, import duties, exchange rates, etc., I’d say the UK prices are within reason.

We all say and do silly stuff on forums and social media and well anyone who uses that horrible Restera site, needs help

I just expected more professionalism when DF was doing a serious deep dive on the Pro console but no To make matters worse we then have Alex acting and laughing like some teenager high on the wacky baccy

I should remember that IGN now owns DF which will never help Xbox get a fair comparison from now on :frowning:

Hmm what about the PS5 with disc? It’s about £470 in the UK which is over $600…

It’s not just the consoles anyway (and we got completely screwed on the Pro price, higher than even the EU), the games are a rip off price too

$500 + 20% VAT = $600.

US prices are always without tax.

That’s not quite correct, they obtained the shares Gamer Network owned via the acquisition, but Richard Leadbetter owns the rest.

Yep but their tax is way lower than ours - if theirs was 20% I bet they’d have a more competitive price.

Didn’t realise the prices had gone up in the US too - digital launched at $399 but is now $449, we had a £40 increase here so about right.

The Pro is still way out of whack though - if you take the VAT off, the UK price equals $775 so we’ve got an over 10% premium

One year of console exclusivity for SH2 Remake it seems

Is this the first time seeing a notice? Also, that vertical stand sold separately is sending me.

Not really Sony’s fault.

They’ve done it for the FF games and Forspoken at least.
