Interesting since Sony isn’t exactly strong with it’s digital infrastructure. Lets see how this plays out.

If they want disc to digital to work, you somehow need a disc drive. Unless they really expect everyone to own a previous system.
This would be great. I wonder how it works with delisted games? Like could I “digitize” my physical copy of Forza Horizon 2 or does it have to be a game where a new digital license can currently be granted.

The sad thing about this news is that even if PS6 doesn’t start 2028 for instance, this no more physical still goes into effect for this gen. Like, Intergalactic won’t even see the light of disc. Thats just crazy.

Assuming of course intergalactic sees the light of day. I no longer trust a game existing until five days after it comes out.

The ratio is crazy. The sad thing is, even if they could reverse it, PS6 is sure guarantee to be discless. Hell, you can only hope for disc add-on down the road. Why else would they announce this? Not to mention, they are investor of this no less. So in hindsight, we chose the wrong team to win alas HD-DVD vs Blu-ray. Yeah, I said it.

Well, I guess Xbox decided to leave the day all to PS this time rather than do the usual I can top you with worse news. They are saving it for next week, but usually it’s on the same day. That’s a progress.
Boy, haven’t seen Max seem so defeated by the news. I can’t stay up long, but I’ll watch a very likely video edited version.
Now every company including Dominos is trolling PS with their announcement. Oh boy.
If Nintendo ever does something similar, we should keep MVG away from sharp objects, tall buildings…

85% of PS game sales are digital (and rising) and most of the physical sales are likely first-party games. The number of people switching to (a more expensive) Xbox would be negligible.

Did Kinda Funny even respond? Maybe they can run Sony better too. Anyway, I saw the one I followed earlier today and he was upset on the matter. I am seeing more of “Arrogant Sony” as of late. Funny how they would blame Xbox. If you want no competition, Sony would do more of this. Just saying. You done this to yourself.
