Starfield and Redfall delayed to first half of 2023

Xbox launched more than just Halo and Forza in 2020/2021. They weren’t elected best publisher of 2021 for nothing.

Of course it wasn’t for nothing, but their second? best rated game isnt on Xbox yet, and the third is on Playstation

It doesn’t change the fact they are Xbox studios that produced these games. People are acting like Xbox did nothing beyond Forza and Halo, which is false. They had a pretty decent amount of games, in different genres for different playerbase.

Those games weren’t counted amongst the XGS ranking FYI.

Psychonauts wasn’t? dont see why wouldn’t it to be honest.

Can be fair or not mate, but until big new IP’s or franchises that aren’t as attached to Xbox as Forza/halo/gears start hitting Xbox with a decent ratio, the concern and the no games joke will be there

I have no care for the jokes and stuff, they already released games for different playerbases. If people only want to retain the big AAA 3rd person games as “true” games, then there is nothing that can be done for them.

Deathloop falls under Zenimax and wasn’t counted towards MS total.

I just bought like every Atelier game recently, I got no game shortage :joy:

Save us Forza Motorsport, you’re our only hope!

Do not worry, Dan Greenawalt has got this.

What’s is coming from 1st party this year?

Bookmark this post and ask again in a month. Nobody here knows for sure.

I do not expect anything ‘big’ from Xbox this year that we do not know or strongly suspect ala Forza. But yeah, I would refrain from making such statements until after we see the June showcase. It is not too far away after all.

Honestly, I’m very let down and I get why others are as well. I bought a Series X in part to play Starfield, and I reupped Game Pass to 2024.

Is Xbox doomed? Hell no. Is this concerning for Starfield and Redfall? Honestly, in some regards, it’s promising that they have seemingly learnt their lessons.

I am getting sick to death of saying wait until next year and hearing it, although it does ring true. However, this does put pressure on their showcase and their teams to deliver here.

I will say however that MS really needs to rethink their strategies long term. Having one big show a year means bad news hitting in the midst of droughts makes things look so much worse. And they need to stop putting dates in ink, years in advance. It didn’t work here, it didn’t work with Halo, fuck… it didn’t work with Sea of Thieves and Crackdown. I think they need more regular shows, with dates no more than 4 months out from release.

Part of the issue is Microsoft is still making timed exclusives for their competitor due to prior contractual obligations.

No, it’s just the “Xbox Creator” mantra that so many follow. The doom-and-gloom levied at Xbox is always disproportionate to the situation and that levied at other parties in the industry. Microsoft just spend ~$80 billion over the last few years? Quick, make a video about the concern they’re priming to sell off Xbox. Game gets delayed, despite the industry almost all suffering from the same delays and their closest competition delaying multiple projects? Quick put out a video about the concern you have about Xbox’s figure.

communities in general are 50/50 either you have an understanding one and moves on it like its normal, or you have a shitfest for console warring and rent free-ism.

2021 was a pretty great year, 202*0 was good as well, we’ll see how 2022 goes. But they’ve put 80+ billion into acquisitions to have constant content moving forward so I’m not worried about it.

I imagine Xbox won’t be able to do only one big show a year soon, even if they wanted to.

At one point they’ll simply have too many things that need to be shown, marketed, and released.
