State of Play returns Tuesday, June 2 with more than 60 minutes of updates, announcements, and gameplay reveals from top studios around the world.
To kick things off, you’ll get a closer look at Marvel’s Wolverine. Insomniac Games will share more from its upcoming third-person action-adventure game showing off Logan’s brutal and relentless combat along with some new details. This all-new take on the comic book legend launches on PS5 September 15.

I think Final Fantasy VII Remake 3 is more likely to be at SGF than the Sony show. I hope we see Intergalactic! I’m also curious about the rumored God of War game starring Deborah Ann Woll. I think it’s supposed to be Egyptian themed? I bounced off GOW 2018 but this sounds more interesting to me.
Last year was 5 minutes short from an hour length. I don’t know if Wolverine is kicking off the show, but it is likely to get the similar length as Concord, which I can’t believe it really got one. Anyway, I expect a good show.
If Fairgames or Break In (I think that’s the title) appears here, it probably would receive a five minute overview. Actually, whatever happened to the other game? 4 Loop I think that’s what called.
I don’t see this being on the State of Play at all. Personally, if it was up to me, this game wouldn’t exist but since it does, I would cancel it, have Guerrilla start working on Horizon 3 for next generation so they can wrap up the trilogy and then get NC Soft to develop Horizon Steel Frontiers for all consoles as it looks freaking awesome. It’s currently PC and mobile only which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Of course, this is what I would do.
Wolverine looked… fine? It just looked like every superhero action game ever. And the way he magnet-zipped between enemies was eh. I don’t know, it certainly didn’t look bad but I don’t know why that would turn anyone’s head unless they were just superfans of the character.
Control, Tomb Raider, Onimusha, Ace Combat 8 made this pretty good.
But as a Sony showcase… it was underwhelming to say the least. I thought that woman was dead from God of War 2018 ? Am I missing something ? It looks good but that’s it.
I want to know what PlayStation fans thought of it, because I guess I’m not the target audience for these games.
Onimusha is one I’m fairly excited for. I’m not an OG fan but I have always been aware of the games (technically I own warlords; maybe I’ll buy samurai’s destiny).
