Probably for many Twitter users. I still remember they clowned on her for being in AI market, not a gamer, and so on. Not even going there with gender.
I donât think most Twitter users know the meaning of the word âapologyâ. Theyâll still be tweaking most likely.
No I mean after the deal went through. Tell Satya he was done. Satya could have picked Sarah or Matt.
Imo, that wouldnât have changed anything. Sarah and Matt would have continued as they were, until Nadella pulled his head out of his ass and came to understand his AI and profits for AI approach was screwing the rest of the company.
Agreed, itâs all great to hear and the moves so far with new features, Game Pass and renaming are good to see, but overall the strategy difference isnât going to be noticeable for a while and might not be much different.
Iâve worked with a few new leadership teams, and this is the classic approach - get all the ideas everyone wants to do, pick the easy wins, tell everyone what they want to hear (based on what they all said, plus tell them youâre in listening and learning mode for a while) and enthuse and excite everyone.
Admittedly, the leaders Iâve seen use it have generally been pretty good ones, so itâs likely a positive itâs being used.
It feels this is a great start and this may be a new golden age, but Iâll wait to see how the actual strategy plays out first - Iâm enjoying the little wins and there will be more as the Xbox team are empowered to deliver what they want, but knowing this playbook so well I guess Iâm a little more cynical than most.
However if we see more action following the words, and that translating into strategic direction then yes this could be a very exciting time for Xbox
I think Asha will see how Fable (and potentially E-Day as well?) will do on PS5 this fall and then next year will make her moves on the exclusivity front after evaluating if itâs worth it or not. Xbox always has the PC market as something to rely on too even if they pull off from porting their games to Playstation.
Interesting times ahead for sure.

Stabilize Gen9 as a healthy and high-quality base

Deliver Project Helix to lead in performance and play your console and PC games
This sounds like Series X will be the âbaseâ experience into the foreseeable future, with Helix as the âProâ version.
All good to hear, thereâs points in there where they admit thereâs frustration, but hearing that, and them realizing and planning on changing it, there is not enough trust anymore that even if they are 100% intentional with it, that in 3-5 years there wonât be another shift, another Microsoft demand for the division to operate a certain way to align with whatever new business model or technology they want to push. So⌠good to hear, feel some excitement but be cautious, now more than ever.
Pretty good messaging, the exclusives fanboys are going to be pissed.
Also mergers and aquisitions are back on the table, donât think I like that.
I trust a person who can acknowledge the problem and hardly sugar coat the fault of its approach, including the name brand.
AshaâŚ

And my ![]()

Dammit, Xbox. Lost focus on my original task today. Next week is earning from Microsoft. It will be the first to have Asha there or at least reflect the new era.
too much Microsoft news today pic.twitter.com/RebJEgo29K

Hey, it puts your children to college. Thatâs the old saying.
The Series X will get a price decrease
The part about exclusives is interesting. I personally really donât care either way, find with other platform players being able to access the games but it should be interesting to see if they do end up making big changes and if this time it works out for them. Because they made these changes for a reason after all.
I donât think weâll see much reflection or impact, because the earnings will be based on how Microsoft runs the fiscal year. Umm I used copilot to find a quick answer so thatâs my excuse if this is wrong (I just know generally that Q3 2026 isnât actually the real time Q3 2026). According to copilot (again my excuse) itâd be October to December 2025. Either way Iâm pretty sure it wonât cover the time Ashaâs been there. There might be some comments about Xboxâs direction, but no real financial data her leadership.
Words that there are big changes within Microsoft. Likely they wonât talk about much on gaming, but maybe they will give us an idea on their approach if AI push is really over or at least pull the brake. There are hints that they are backing off but weâll see.
With the current crazy hardware prices and the long cross-gen period that is coming it makes sense to have the Series consoles as cheaper alternatives in the market.
