I wonder if this is a ploy to get another big publisher sooner rather than later.pl
With this whole FTC deal, I’m not that pumped for big publishers anymore, but Capcom isn’t that big lol.
I agree Prog

Seems like the perfect time to buy SEGA since people seem so concerned about ATLUS walk outs over exclusivity.
For real though, I don’t mind the multi platform releases. Still got Game Pass!
Microsoft buys Sega.
Atlus still only releases on PS5/Switch.
Phil’s a nice guy.
that day a lot of folks will be banned here
gamepass needs to cover all genres I’d be surprised if they stopped.
ms is far from a monopoly look at disney it lacks only warnermedia
No I’m pretty sure alot of people are getting banned TODAY lol.

edit: and he is banned. classic
You don’t have to take anything away from other platforms to grow gamepass.
Paradox would be a good get to boost pc gamepass, they make a lot of strategy games and probably they are really cheap
May as well go after Sega if you want Paradox imo.
Considering Microsoft clear interest in getting IPs, I think they will go after publishers mainly and the most attractive ones are T2 and Capcom. Sega is third, but the main problem with Sega is that despite having bunch of IPs they just don’t develop that many games with those IPs.
Ideally Microsoft should make some partnership with Nintendo and it will open a lot of doors to them. Though ATVI certainly opened some 100%.
I should have waited with this poll for tomorrow, lol.
It really seems like Microsoft is extremely cautious at the moment. I bet they got some info how the deal was received from the FTC.
The reality is this:
You can’t watch Stranger things on Amazon Prime and you can’t watch Chernobyl on Netflix.
These services attract through exclusive content. This buy was mostly for the future, not the present.
Ubisoft is a prime candidate to be acquired by somebody, but I don’t expect Microsoft (though anecdotally HoegLaw said that Ubisoft make sense for both Sony and Microsoft). Maybe Tencent? Or even EA?
Ubisoft could do live service for Sony. That might be a good fit. Affordable for them, but lots of staff and therefore more risk for them.
I am not sure if Ubisoft developers want to be put into GaaS salt mines.
I absolutely do not see how Ubisoft is “affordable” to Sony
