my skills gotta get quite a bit better to get to the idsoft level. ![]()
Still hiring concept aritsts means early / pre production, no? I wonder if they have two projects ![]()
From the Xbox Bethesda roundtable, when Phil talked about collaboration, I remember he gave an example of id Software and Coalition, I wonder if he thought of it on the fly or was it actually implying something
two technical powerhouse studios with some of the best shooter IPs unde their name
Eh still doesnt hurt to throw your hat in the running. Worst-case they say no. Most likely case if hired youll learn a bunch and be better off for etc.
We need more “take away your controller for movie cut scene” gameplay.
We haven’t even seen anything from the game.
If they’re talking about the game being big and open with so much content, and they don’t like that, then tough luck because that’s a signature in Bethesda RPGs and a main attraction to many. If you don’t like it, move on. It’s not gonna accommodate your preferencs, and it’s not stuck in the past for it.
Time to compare to Far Cry gameplay.
Every open world game is litterally a Ubisoft open world game and I’m tired of it /s
By the way, watch this be a new narrative, I’m already seeing it:
“Xbox games are too big and have too much longevity and content, between multiplayer service games, open world and RPG games. They are designed to be long and full of content to extend Game Pass subs and not the artistic integrity of the game. I’d much rather pay $70 for a 8 hour single-player only game”

Maybe the writer isn’t happy about it being Skyrim in space in all the best ways? I don’t know, some folks be foolish though, lmao.
We haven’t even seen it.
Think I stumbled across that article and stopped reading when the author was complaining about potentially having to “save the world”
People actually get paid to write this crap.
I know, but this is what is considered journalism nowadays. That’s not to say there isn’t good journalism anymore, but this…what a take.
Articles are written to generate clicks. And people continue to click them without fail.
Why put this here, why not put it in the community thread, this thread being free of this kind of nonsense would be great.
Or don’t put it here at all since it brings nothing of value and you are falling into the author’s trap.
r/starfield already covered this and they somewhat understood what the author meant. Basically afraid if Starfield’s MC is like FO4’s or Skyrim’s. Your character already had a backstory in those games and in the end everyone and their mothers remembering you as their hero because you defeated the bad guy. This is kind of different case with past ES games like Oblivion/Morrowind.
