I started but never finished any of those. Far too long for me.
For context, the game that I spent the most ever play time with, according to that Xbox museum app, was Watch Dogs 1…and that is the absolute longest.

So what is taste in reference to Sony? I think it’s a lot broader than just cinematic action adventure and family friendly.
However, if you want to look at cinematic action adventure, Perfect Dark, Indiana Jones, Hellblade 2, Compulsions Game, both of The Coalition Games and probably Fable (If you lump GOT and HFW into this category then you gotta lump in Fable). So contrary to people thinking, I think they’re pretty covered there
They’re really lacking in other areas like fighting and jrpg more than cinematic action adventure.
I don’t disagree with this. It’s just that I saw too much emphasis on Hellblade being the only one of those you know. And those generate more hype and power generally than fighting and JRPG imo.
Yeah I think people are mismessaging. They got the goods coming. Time to show it.
Would be the perfect time to pop off with Hellblade 2 gameplay and The Coalition announcement to show people they got those cinematic games covered. Then remind people, oh BTW we still the home of RPG with the inXile announcement.
I can’t wait to see all the weird shit Initiative are gonna put in Perfect Dark with respect to weapons, scopes, reload animations, gadgets, enemy types, mission design and, of course, aliens.
Is Perfect Dark a major AAA franchise an accurate statement? Its an old noticeable name but I wouldn’t say its major.
Literally no new games since 2005.
It’s not. Even in the N64 era it wasn’t. But the potential to make it a major game is there. It’s not easy, especially when they’re going for stealthy spy action and first person shooter, could he an incredible quality game but the commercial success isn’t guaranteed I feel.
Two things that could make it more easily have more success are if it were either 3rd person, or just focused on the shooting.
Figured
I get Microsoft is banking on it to BE big but its not really a big franchise.
Yep, and even as I said with it having potential to be big, I feel like what they’re going for hasn’t necessarily been commercially huge in games before.
In any case, I expect an awesome and unique game, which is what will make me happy ![]()
I’ll be honest. I was sort of puzzled on people asking for campaign gameplay coming late equal delay or rather, show much more of it. If I recall correctly, past Halo games preview don’t show you much. The 2020 demo was our 75% worth of preview. They had to show it again due to visual complaints and understandingly so. However, the amount of content to show doesn’t always mean grim start.
Nintendo technically did that and they still released it “early.” It ends up being great, like Metroid Dread. I think people forget Xbox is like Nintendo, where they can show a new game or gameplay for the first time and able to release it the same year. PS is more known to reveal a new game that will arrive in a year or two or more. Exception is launch titles.
Bottom line, don’t underestimate them.
I feel the need for at least one more PvP arena shooter from Xbox other than Halo Infinite. And no, I don’t count Gears.
Bethesda has two amazing FPS studios with iconic FPS IP, and they’ve yet to make a good PvP component in their games, and that seriously needs to change now. The Doom and Wolfenstein shooting mechanics are too good to be used only for the campaign and some afterthought modes slapped on.
So at TGAs we could potentially be looking at:
Halo TV trailer.
4 Game Pass day one reveals.
Hellblade 2 re-reveal.
And potentially a Redfall gameplay trailer.
Xbox should have done more…
Xbox hasn’t done anything yet. The show is still two days away.
@DARK-PARADISE idk why Doom Eternal dropped the traditional multiplayer it had in the first game in favor of whatever it did in that game.
idk, I don’t even understand what it is to this day. But even in the first game that also felt like an afterthought and just not featured and supported enough. It died waaaay to quickly.
Probably quitra bit more
2-3 games has always been my expectation, so that sounds about right.
I don’t think people should be expecting E3 here.
No.
Because if we did we wouldn’t have ANY games this generation.
You know how I know the TGAs are going to disappoint us?
Greenburg hasn’t told us to temper our expectations yet in a tweet.

Yet.
