5 Cities, 5 Eras, 1 show. Xbox Presents: A Special Look at STRANGER THAN HEAVEN is coming May 6th at 4 PM PDT. The broadcast will reveal more on the world, the story, and the intertwined cast and characters from SEGA Ryu Ga Gotoku’s STRANGER THAN HEAVEN over the course of around 30 minutes.
They even have countdown with collage of what’s revealed already. This is cool.
Oh shit, I didn’t know! Watching now.
Great stream but I’ve muted the story part, this is stuff I don’t want to see being talked about, instead I rather experience it myself.
I just clicked on the video right when Snoop Dog came on. I was not prepared for that.
Yeah, they are showing too much of the story. I think I’ve seen enough. I really like what I saw.
Yup. Snoop and his son, I didn’t see that coming. I did see people saying Snoop when we saw the character in the previous trailer but i just thought it was a look a like character, lol.
Release is this winter. But with GTA in November I can easily see this getting moved into 2027. Ah man, I was hoping a little for a release date way sooner.
This winter can technically be between December 20, 2026 & March 20, 2027
. I feel like mid January or February is realistic, but they might surprise us with a late December. It’s already coming sooner than I could hope. For a single studio RGG has a crazy pipeline and they’ve really just kept evolving (well they kinda peaked with Lost Judgment but ignoring that). Stranger than Heaven has an interesting music focus I’m really down bad for.
This game is no re skin or something like how they did with Judgment titles. This is a full fledged new game with crazy amount of vibe and details. I can’t wait!
Presentation was stellar. I hope other devs see this and decide to join Xbox to showcase their game.
In practice, you’ll use RB + RT to control Makoto’s right arm and leg, and LB + LT to manoeuvre his left arm and leg. In the show, we see Makoto’s right arm being held by an enemy, but he’s still able to attack with his left.
Reading the Xbox Wire article. It’s a DEEP one with a lot of finer details. The combat sounds really interesting apparently it’s brand new for this game.
I’m on Ultimate but this game is a DayOne Buy for me!
Well, im expecting February 2027 to already be packed with Stranger Than Heaven and Metro 2039 as the “this winter” games.
Stranger looks awesome and im looking forward to playing the game day one on Game Pass Ultimate. Let’s go!!!
Looks great and the change to the combat system should keep things feeling fresh.
Hoping Stranger than Heaven & Xbox’s marketing for it gets way way more eyes. It’s a very muted response so far. The live stream is sitting at 70k views and the story trailer 40k. They got DEMOLISHED by the star fox direct
. I really don’t want this game or show format to fly under the radar.
Yeah. True, it could easily be 2027 and man, that’s way later than I was hoping for. It’s my own fault but I had a feeling this would get released shortly after summer or so, way before GTA VI. Especially with how it was already available for preorder and showing on Game Pass, I thought it was a sign.
Ah well. I’ll have ample time now to actually finish Yakuza 0 at the very least.
Looks stunning, the Yakuza gang have really upped their motion capture & animation. It’s also coming much sooner than I expected & on Game Pass too.
Well Done Xbox
I’d say half a year from the first actual breakdown showcase is really good. The summer starts next month. I could have maybe seen an August release, but that’s still just really fast. They can take the time for polish and marketing (which the game will need as a new IP (even if it’s set in the Yakuza universe; the title is completely new unless they change it to add “Yakuza” or “Like a Dragon” to the start)).
Think about all the other games you’ve got to tie you over for the year! Oh, but don’t remind me of the backlog. I’m the Yakuza/Like a Dragon Fan whose only actually finished 7. ![]()
Both the Judgment games are very good titles that deserve to be played by anyone who likes Yakuza.
I agree that the presentation was awesome, game looks amazing and hopefully RGG will deliver again.
