Xbox Presents: A Special Look at STRANGER THAN HEAVEN

I’d say that’s just the difference between Xbox and Playstation. Playstation (and the rest of the industry) have had worst news than Xbox the whole generation. There’s been so many studio closures, layoffs (the industry and economy have just been awful), canceled games, pricing concerns (heck they started $70 games), Playstation has lost more exclusives than Xbox (third parties are embracing multiplatform day one at a far faster rate, even some Sony first party has, and Sony just doesn’t have that many first party games right now) and everything in between. Xbox’s thing is that they - for better and worse - just feel closer to their customers than most. Phil especially built Xbox back up on this identity of transparency and communication with gamers. It makes all the good and bad news feel more impactful in and outside the community. It also doesn’t help that Xbox just doesn’t have the favoritism of Playstation. Sony gets bad news, but it’s a lot more muted. Xbox feels like a rollercoaster because we and Xbox collectively make it feel like a rollercoaster. Honestly that part is business as usual.

I meant SEGA bringing its Arcade games to Xbox is more of a dream. I’m loving that SEGA is more and more looking to support Xbox & hope the new Jet Set Radio gets the same treatment from both Xbox and SEGA. It’s a bit of a shame that SEGA never brought the reboot of Sakura Wars to the Xbox mind :frowning:

Ports are always possible so fingers crossed. Jet Set radio is a known IP, so I don’t think SEGA will partner with anyone to promote it. Definitely might make an appearance at an Xbox show though. More interested in the crazy taxi myself.

I love to see it happen, but a lot of that is nostalgia talking.

I didn’t buy an Xbox for Halo, but my mind was made up to buy an Xbox when I saw SEGA showing off an early build of JSRF at E3 2001; There & then I knew what console I would be buying next & that was all because of SEGA & JSRF on Xbox at E3 2001

Which part is nostalgia? For me they’ve already confirmed a new crazy taxi in development.

Wanting SEGA to push JSR on Xbox again. That was the game that made me become an Xbot before the system had even launched

Yeah, I’m pretty sure they’ll treat that game like sonic or any other well known IP popular with global audiences. They’ll promote it themselves and focus on all platforms. Maybe it shows up at an Xbox show. I’d be surprised if there’s a game pass deal. Wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if it supports Xbox Play Anywhere or Cloud and stuff (hard to say; Sega games like sonic still don’t).

I love for the game to be shown off at next month’s showcase. I hope Xbox will have something from SEGA to show off at the show.

Most likely the Persona 4 remake will be there. The announced Jet set, crazy taxi, etc games are more unlikely just because Sega only just briefly announced them. Hard to know how far along they are.

I think you are right about P4 & I feel the new Crazy Taxi is years off, but hoping the new Golden Axe & JSR games are coming towards the end of their development

I hope everyone at Xbox is celebrating. I wonder if it will keep going up. It’s nearly doubled since I had checked before. There’s also a lot of new comments in Japanese now which is great engagement for Xbox in that region.

Could definitely have a better likes and comments ratio, but even if they’re not interacting with it that many eyes on it is crazy.

Yeah the game got a big traction with a lot of reactions from streamers and such, but this number and increase is probably a big ad campaign with them and Sega, the interactions don’t line up with the views, that’s what happens with videos that are pushed through YT ads a lot.

I’d believe it, but the eyes on it is still significant for Xbox. They don’t have anything remotely close on their channel (makes me wonder why they wouldn’t run the same ad campaign for their showcases or new console reveals). The other versions are also doing well but much more modestly so. At half a million the story trailer is still better than most third party game trailers on Xbox and the other versions of the live stream are also doing well (the Japanese version has 2M views). And there’s still Segas channel. Great viewership, poor engagement on the video. If this is what running ads does then Xbox should do it more often (or at least during their big showcase).
