Xbox Presents: A Special Look at STRANGER THAN HEAVEN

It says 7.8 million to me, so more people are just finding and watching it.

It went up. Old photo. But yes, Xbox, more of this. They need more engagement.

Can’t be that old, it still says 9 days old, so that’s like 400k views in a couple of hours.

Now it’s over 8.5 million. That’s quite a record on XBOX channel. I agree they need more of this for their games.

No seriously. The gap between their second most popular live stream and stranger than Heaven is wild. It really popped off. With more third party special looks like this and all the shows Xbox can really cement themselves as THE gaming brand for a lot of people. Playstation and Nintendo are held back as only being good for their console platforms and after E3 summer games fest hasn’t really filled that void (a lot of people don’t like it). Xbox has really perfected their shows with great reveals, great pacing, and solid focus on both the game and creators. They can leverage a lot of first party with all their studios, ABK (COD), and Bethesda, and they also still have Blizzcon and Quakecon. Adding in third party special looks and premieres will be so good for them.

There’s also still Sega’s channel

And every trailer ends with the three Xbox platforms and an Xbox Play Anywhere tag and Xbox Game Pass tag. Previously XPA games wouldn’t have that information easily accessible. There was no indicator for games coming to the Xbox PC App/Microsoft Store AT ALL in trailers. They’ve gotten so good at partnering with third party games. This is great.

I’m so glad to see they did get those eyes. They’ve even surpassed Star Fox. By like a lot. Star Fox is 2.9 million vs Stranger than Heaven at 8.6 Million. Those a crazy feat for any Japanese game. For any game. It’s a Nintendo direct for Star Fox :fox:.

Helps the Xbox momentum that is currently having. Say what you want about current reign, the momentum is strong.

There have been a lot of react videos being done by Vtubers and other youtubers for Stranger than Heaven, I think MaximilianDood was one of the first to do a reaction, and that video last I saw had 200k views. Has gotten 40k since then too.

The momentum’s been strong since the January dev direct. Arguably since like 2017. The cadence, energy, third party support, and all have done a great job building. For all the negativity last year people were still most excited for Xbox’s games and shows. They’ve just especially been killing it with their shows since like the start of the generation and somehow kept innovating and improving on them more and more. It’s all really paying off.

June is right around the corner. It’ll be really interesting to see how the summer showcase will do.

Usually, layoff or similar odd vibe news like multiplatform news dampers the mood and we have to rely on those to get us back up. Now, we see them like glass ceiling breaking event. There hasn’t been really bad news, especially in compare to PS this year.

This is getting massive views on YouTube. I hope this is a sign of things to come with Xbox & Sega working closer.

Perhaps do one with Persona 4 Revival or rumored 6.

I love to see the new Jet Set Radio get the same push from Sega & Xbox & for it to be on Gamepass. I’d also love to see Sega & Xbox launch a Sega Arcade service for Gamepass with a collection of SEGA Arcade classics, but that’s a dream

There’s always bad news. It’s been a general positive trajectory though. Also we’ve already had really bad news that dampered the news. The entire Xbox community and gaming outlets crashed tf out when Phil and Sarah retired. It’s really only now (after a few months of Sharma not immediately being terrible) that people have settled down and put a positive spin on things. It really wasn’t that long ago that the entire internet was acting like it was a certainty that Microsoft would like sell off Xbox or something.

Huh? Xbox and Sega have worked VERY closely together for a long time now. What is it since this generation? A bit before. Tons of ports, huge game pass and XPA support from Atlus and RGG games among some other games. They didn’t do Xbox presents, but Metaphor ReFantazio (the new Atlus IP) did a lot of partnered marketing with Xbox. If anything this is the cumulation of them working closely with Sega for a quite a while now. They both seem VERY happy with their working relationship and we’ll definitely continue to see more.

Right. Imagine it was left off with that breaking news and we have to wait for showcase to lift our spirit up. Instead, many including who fell out are pumped for more Xbox. The momentum is hot. Perhaps I should have said bad news after that breaking news, let alone the one that can salt the wound. PS has studio closure, first party sales missed, raise price, and lack of news to keep them hyped. They need SoP right now. We’re just grateful to have a showcase.

Please don’t compare multiplatform releases to layoffs, as multiplatform releases aren’t as severe.

I’m only saying to the people at social media. Of course, layoff is significantly worse, let alone actual relevant, than multiplatform news.

Considering 90% of everyone on twitter is a bot, I think that people on social media are just paid actors. As in they get paid by twitter to act out.
