Great show! E Day looks insane!

I still can’t believe what we saw from E-Day
still processing all that. Now it makes sense why the game was in development for so many years, it looks incredible! :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Really great show overall!

I liked everything shown really. Clockwork Revolution is my jam, but am excited for Persona 6.

The only main issue I honestly have, I think it’s my only true gripe, is the fact that they use the showcase to show so many updates on several of their live service games. Like, could they have included those for Summer Game Fest and added more gameplay or world-premiere content in the actual showcase?

No offense to those that enjoy the type of content, of course; just felt like it would have been better off somewhere else.

Great show. Normally in these I’m hoping to find a couple games that interest me and to keep my eye on.

In this showcase, I want to try nearly all of them. A+ from me.

I’d put the show on a bit above the Sony show I guess, just too much action/combat game focused. Xbox did have more variety though like Vivarium which looked cool (note this game was announced years ago, apparently forgotten).

E-day has to be the best looking game so far, last gen Sony games were a step ahead of Xbox in general in this department. But this gen Xbox game studios have really levelled up across the board, E-day, Senua looked better than the new GoW and Wolverine.

I think it was like an A- for me. My interest in the games kind of went down after the first 15 minutes or so. But it was well paced and everything was at least visually interesting. The E-Day direct was even better for me than the showcase itself.

Great showcase overall. The first half was on fire for me personally with 8 games but the second half was very weak with only 2 games. For the third straight year, I have gotten a minimum of 10 games so im happy with 2024 still being my all time record with 14.

I thought it was a good show overall, but we saw a lot of the same games again from XGS. Gears looked amazing. Honestly, I want to see more games like that bird game and less games about asian people with long hair spinning in the air with swords attacking big demon boys. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Also, I’d love for the “multiple characters walk toward the screen looking cool” theme to be given a rest for a few years.

Day One with XBOX GAME PASS

This show was very good and likely had a decent ps gamer crowd (either b/c of logo-gate, or xbox having a lot of multi plat games). If I didn’t have an xbox and watched this show and saw ‘day one with gamepass’ so many times, on so many huge games, I would seriously be revaluating my console choice.

I guess in a way I did this when I had a ps4. gamepass is just too good to pass up if you are a variety gamer.

Aaron is on the stream for the fanfest.

The show was underwhelming for me. Unfortunately.

I will rewatch the Gears Direct a again, but the demo during the Xbox show just didn’t wow me. I can’t deny I expected much more from the visuals, this being UE5 and all. Also the lack of hit reactions stood out.

Fable, trailer did nothing for me. Rather would’ve had a minute or two of just direct gameplay, but yet another story trailer. After the delay that’s exactly what i expected, a good look at gameplay. Meh.

And overall just too much uninteresting stuff and it’s quite clear Geoff snagged all the great third party reveals, well, mostly. And you end on Call of Duty? Nah fam.

The direct showing was what did it for me, as the main show trailer was really just more Gears as we know it, albeit with a couple of cool set pieces, and I was lamenting the decision to go with E-Day over Gears 6.

Once the direct hit though, that feeling went away. I particularly like that it’ll mainly take place in that one city, and that you’ll be able to explore at will and come across different missions. The acid gun was also fucking awesome!

Okay, now to watch this puppy. Already spoiled myself with the Xbox Wire post. Persona 6 being day one Game Pass is crazy. Almost as Crazy as Crazy Taxi showing up!! Eat it Jet set radio fans. (I am so sorry and I hope your game that you love gets announced soon) EAT IT NERDZZZ.

I am so utterly bored of sword-spin-long-hair-flash-sparks-big-boss-backflip-sparks-etc etc etc

I don’t want to say this, but I have to say it: compared to Wolverine and Laufey, E-Day, Halo CE Remake, Senua and Fable looked incredibly way more polished, detailed and fun. What a time to be alive where XBOX is making Sony exclusives look like games from last gen.

I get now why they want E-Day on PlayStation

It definitely felt like the last hoorah for the games that were announced way back in 2020. It does make next year’s very interesting because it should virtually be all new stuff.

This reminds me of the “return to Xbox”. People got it in their head that Xbox just stopped having any exclusives and ported absolutely everything over when that was never the case. Out of the whole showcase they announced 2 first party releases as exclusive including among some unannounced titles. That’s not really a “return” but exactly what it had been before as “case by case” with a mix across studios & multiplayer or single player games. It’s not everything but COD or only multiplayer live service or only Bethesda and ABK. I think people just went kinda crazy with rumors and then Sharma being really vague and “I’m listening” on Twitter. Hopefully now people can take this “win” moment of Xbox proudly stating a “return to exclusives” and signaling what games are console exclusives and move on.

All new stuff and next Gen Helix details! For the 25th anniversary it’s kinda sad that we’re already more expectant of next years. Maybe they should’ve saved the Helix teaser & next gen announcement for this showcase.
