It’s been 6 years though right? And they have a new GT that’s on both PS4/5 which is supposed to replace it. I wish that games could stick around forever, but this seems smart. Focus the attention/resources on the new game.
Part of me wonders if he’s vying for a bigger leadership role post merger. He knows the inner works of both Xbox and ABK, but I can’t help but think he could have been part of the culture issues. Or at least maybe he didn’t do anything about it, which isn’t any better.
Indeed. Sure it’s always bad when servers get taken down but 6 years of support seems reasonable to me. I just don’t think it’s the big “bad Sony gotcha” some people seem to think it is.
Fair enough. Just always seemed like a no brainer for MS to try to get this game seeing as how fondly it’s looked at by xbox gamers who’ve been with the brand since the beginning and the industry at large. It was the first Bioware game I ever played and single handedly got me into western rpgs to begin with. Had better story and characters than the disappointing prequels and was the best Star Wars game of the time IMO. I was extremely annoyed ( to put it lightly ) when it was announced as a PS5 exclusive and wondered how Xbox could “fuck up” so much at let that one slip past it.
Of course once the info started coming out it made more sense why they passed on it to begin with.
