Yep, I think so too. Because it seems many pubs don’t want to drop their big games day one on Game Pass yet, it’s gonna take time. I think there needs to be at least one big game dropping on it, doing very well before they start to see things differently probably. So in the meantime just make sure Sony doesn’t time exclusive the whole industry, lol.
Those and GC were cut down versions, and lacking MP and co-op for the most part, iirc.
MS can buy any “big exclusive” they works for them business wise, I don’t know why anyone would doubt that
I dont think so especially coming off the success of ME Legendary Edition and the good reception to the Mass Effect Next Trailer.
We gotta think risky stuff like @Ruthwik_Rao said like Splinter Cell. I know people be begging for that game but Im skeptical of the ROI and how many actual people will buy it. If Microsoft funds it and snags it for game pass both Ubi and Xbox win.
I totally don’t doubt they can. But the simple math we have access to says they’d have to pay more than Sony to get them, probably twice or more, and then gain less from them, probably half or less. So I believe they just don’t view them as valuable deals for the most part, and if they’re gonna pay up, they’re gonna pay up for something actually huge, like a whole publisher with their IP.
That’s why I’m thinking the most likely thing is either Splinter Cell or Titanfall 3.
I’m conflicted about this rumoured “3rd party exclusivity”: on one hand they’d answer to Sony’s moves which have been very aggressive and generally unanswered properly (we can debate all day, but they announc3d 5 high profile moneyhats since new gen introduction and it harms Xbox in some way, shape or form), on the other it would be a move vulnerable to high criticism, because of large media bias ans also the high moral ground position Phil ofted put himself and Xbox on about 3rd party deals (aka we did in the past, but I don’t like it, more in the context of scummy in-game things). We’ll see, obviously if it’s big and it’s on GP it would be hilarious to see for once.
Just send the media some chairs and they’ll shutup
Granted Titanfall 3 doesnt launch between a Battlefront and another COD Im sure it will be the highest selling entry in the series. But off the success of Apex idk if Titanfall 3 would even be interesting to Respawn.
Don’t you remember the one and only Geoff Keighley DEMANDING RotTR on PS4? XD
Cant wait till media demands wolf 3 on playstation
That’s why I could see Xbox going to them and basically saying we want you bto make this for us, you’ll get to grow your studio on our dime.
My man Jason Schreier was writing legit anti-MS propaganda pieces on the matter that year lmao, it was also dramatic as hell. On that same year, Sony announced timed exclusivity for FF7R, he said nothing. That game was later one of his favorite in 2020. The game got its exclusivity extended and he didn’t mention anything about it.
Geoff is pretty buddy buddy with Xbox lately. Even using their venue.
I forgot a new SC is actually in development now, but where Ubi is going now I’m not sure what to think. So I would rather see MS chasing something else, things Matt Booty talked about.
That one is another inconsistent dude with his statements. XD
@AllianceOfficer Geoff is using MS Theatre since years, it’s simply the biggest modern theatre in west coast, there is no better choice, also because of the obvious gaming connection. XD
The game awards has taken place at microsoft theater every year since 2015, barring 2020 because of pandemic
Maybe your comparison is a bit extreme. XD
Anyway, yeah, I’m expecting a big uproar the moment the first big Bethesda series next entry will be announced as Xbox exclusive. Hellblade 2 saw some complaints, also TOW 2, which was covered by the noise of Starfield, but if you on the web/social media there are still entitled people who demands them on PS because of some fantasy right. XD
Please tell me if it seems insensitive, I’ll delete it. I just see hot takes like that every now and then.
I’m not personally offended, but you know, some people could.
